I was going to say I'm in too. But seeing John's post that you should be 215 at 6'3", my 210 at 6'2" doesn't seem too bad.

But I still want to drop down to 185...

You can always just hang around fatter people....did someone mention a meatball sandwich? If only someone could apex the eating-curve for us....

But seriously.....dial-in some form of solid cardio 2-3x per week and you'll be very happy with the results. Knock-off the big calories towards the evenings: think of an airplane making a crash landing.....you wanna land with empty tanks. Eat your big meals and endulge yourself with breakfast & lunch, go lean into the night....

Irregardless of your weight, the circulatory system is where it's at: it's more unhealthy to avoid exercise then being heavy: get your cardio! For me it's the mountain bike...

    ribs anyone?

Aw hell. I guess I am in Peter.

I am around 6'2 and weighed in this morning at 231 pounds. True that much of it is muscle, but the last time I had a body fat analysis done I was at 18% which is a personal worst by at least 7%. I suspect I would be quite solid at 200.

Forget the journal, I'll post what I eat everyday here. Nothing like fellow FChatters to keep one accountable.

SO- I'll up the bet to 31 pounds and commit to having it gone in 72 days by August 3rd 2005. I'll also man up and post a pic of my fat self like Peter did.

I wear a lot of black these days...

I dropped close to 20 pounds over the past month by cutting out soda's, salt and non-homemade soup. I also added about 100oz of water a day.

    It's made a huge difference.

Okay okay fine. I don't have many pics of me looking fat in the daytime, it's too easy to hit the delete button on the digicam.

My 5yo took this pic at the Denver Auto Show last month. Since he took it, I kept it.

You can see the offending stomach paunch and the extra chin. ugh.

    Goals for today:

    Run 3 miles
    Jump rope 10 minutes
    50 push ups
    50 sit ups
No more than 2000 calories, no breads.

Will check in tonight to let you know the outcome.

I lost a few pounds just by giving up breads and also sugar (soda, cookies, doughnuts...damn, i miss some of that). Drinking water is a good idea also. I tried the Atkins diet but I think that was too extreme for me. Good luck to you

I lost 42 pounds and went from a size 40 to a size 34 in 12 months on an excercise and diet program. Some keys I learned are: 1)be sure to eat within 30 minutes of first waking up in the morning. If you wait longer your metabolisim will start slowing down causing you to retain fat. 2) eat or drink five meals a day. I will drink a Myoplex-Lite shake for breakfast, drink another one for mid-morning snack, eat a healthy lunch, drink another Myoplex-Lite for mid-afternoon snack and then eat a healthy dinner. Other than that I will eat nothing else.4) I drink a gallon of water a day as well. I drink nothing else at meals but water...period. I will drink a toddy about once a week or so. 5)I also eat no bread, white potatoes or high sugar carb foods. If it is white or comes in a box or bag...don't eat it. 6) I work-out three days a week which has allowed me to drop my body fat from 24% to under 10%. I have never felt better in my life. After about three months you get used to the lifestyle change and will no longer want to live any other way. GOOD LUCK.

I would like to chime in with my experience, some of you might have seen the pictures with the stripper. That was not how I used to look like. I was fairly overweight when I came to this board. I joined a gym, told my parents not to buy any sweets, ran 2 miles everyday (Not that long, but it works) I did pushups and situps every morning and night like someone else mentioned, and it really made a difference.. Maybe to much, Im a little thin now. I dropped around 10kilos, and now weigh 67kilos with an height of 180cms.

I wish all the best of luck, it can be a struggle, but hang in there, it can be done.

I dont have any before pictures, sadly, but I do have one now (Dont laugh :), and I am the one to the right.)
