Assuming it sounds and performs well. What will be the hit for this sucker? I hope its competative with the stebro. -Nate
Daniel let me drive it home tonight. Wanted to see how it sounds on the road and so I can check all the bolts tomorrow. I think you will like it. I would have called while on the road but I think that the exhaust blew up my phone when I called from the shop tj
I hope its not too loud..... Does it sound tinny like a tubi or more throaty? Man we need a sound clip for sure... A 348 and 328 are very similar sounding right?
Just checked their site. They do not list a setup for 85-91 Testarossas. They make cool setups for just about every other F car. Think there would be a big market for us TR types. WTF? Hope they sound as good as they look Daniel.
you want embarrassing? Take a look at the POS that was on my car before the Larini-- Image Unavailable, Please Login
The sound is incredible. This was recorded sitting in the parking lot (outside) at SportAuto. My laptop was sitting on the ground while I worked the throttle. The top of the audio is at about 7200rpm. Although my laptop is now totally covered with grime, it was worth it. This clip is HyperFlow CATS and X-OST 348 system. Now the good news.... I have been in contact with X-OST, and will likely become a U.S. distributor in the coming days. I need to make a sizable opening order (which amounts to a huge amount of money for me), but it will include the following systems: 328 348 355 360 If anyone is seriously interested in buying one, now would be the time to speak up. 328 units = $2230 348 units = $2320 355 units = $2450 360 units = $3590 I will likely provide free ground shipping within the continental US on these units. The import taxes and duty will be my burden, obviously. I welcome your thoughts and comments.
That sounds awesome. How do you compare it to a Tubi in terms of "loudness"? Any way to get a db reading?
I have a tubi with test pipes sounds very similar mine has more of a whine and louder . For the savings over a tubi sounds great .
The X-Ost sounds great! The "bark" at the top of the rev range makes it sound real tough. How's it like inside the car? Is it boomy or does it drone at cruising speeds? AP
That is actually a catalytic converter body from a BMW, WTF? I am assuming that was on your car when you got it. I am sure the Larini works much better, the looks speak for themselves.
Sounds good Daniel...definitely more bark than the original setup you had. Its not as high pitched as the Tubi at high RPMs I dont think, but then again that could be your laptop mic is not picking it up. The tubi is also a little more brassy throughout the rev range. Not better just different. I actually think the X-Ost is closer sounding to the straight pipe exhaust than anything I have heard. For those asking about db readings my car with a Tubi and no cats was 108db at full throttle down the straight at BIR last year from 50 feet away...its 94db at 75 on the highway in the cabin. Cool setup Daniel...I'd buy one if it came with an appropriate 4.7mm spacer.
yes, that was from the PO. WTF indeed! I posted awhile back and no one ID'd it. Yes, the change was like night and day, it was a new car. I posted in another thread that I should receive my Larini sports exhaust today and will hopefully install this weekend. Whats on there now is an extra quiet exhaust. It was miscommunication between Larini's former US distributor and them. Ill start another thread and post sound clips. Sorry for the hijack.....
Daniel that sounds awesome!!!! Can't wait to see your car now! Also noticed you put the hyperflow cats on......any reason other than emissions? How is the power vs what you had?
ZERO noticable difference between HyperFlow and pipes, but mind you, the car is still up at SportAuto. I hope to have some seat time this weekend.
