I support good racing. Good driving and that should have an element of respect among the competitors. I am an F1 fan first with Ferrari as my favorite team. Over time I have accepted that others are of equal caliber with respect to teams and make a nice effort. I hope for good results for Ferrari and in the larger setting good racing overall and I dont care who provides it be it team or driver.

WEll, Stavura just wrote a big part of my reply!
As for primitive behaviour, it's called cheering and rooting, don't get it? don't play it.
In relation to Michael/Damon clash, i can't say if it was deliberate or not, honestly i can't, Michel defended, Damon tried and they both crashed...in the end justice was served, after the disgusting manoevers by the FIA to try and give Damon the title...they robbed Michael some 4 or 5 races and still he managed to win....it would have been a travesty if Hill had won that year.

Well we won't agree on that either, because I blame the FIA for not having banned Benetton for cheating BOTH yearS

There was the case of the launching programme still present on Benetton software after it became illegal.
Several teams suspected as much, but when it was investigated, Benetton claimed it wasn't using it ! What a laugh ...

Also there was the case of the ride height limit nor being correct, remember that too?
Benetton was caught with the plank well below the minimum thickness imposed.

Benetton got off lightly with some disqualifications instead of a ban for having deliberately broken the rules.
Implying that the FIA acted to favour Williams is just ridiculous, but give an insight on the way you think.

As for the Hill incident, I suggest you Watch the footage. You will see Schumacher losing control, hitting the wall on his right, then going to the left, and waiting for Hill to go by. Then he restart his stricken car and deliberately cross the path of the Williams, provoking a collision and damaging the front wishbone on Hill's car.
Hill stops at the pit, but the repair would take too long, so he has to retire.
Schumacher wins by default, and ... foul play.

I want to keep my individuality, and don't feel the need to belong to a group.
So I don't understand why people feel the need to follow a club or a team to the point of obsession.
That brings irrational behaviour, IMO, and that cheering and rooting is not like me at all.
I can appreciate a sport without getting involved in all that crap, flag waving, chanting, it's like bloody warfare, and yes, very primitive to me.
Do you know that F1 didn't use to be like that when there was no team apparel, no banner, no cap, and all the spectators could mix without distinction.
I am my own person, and I owe loyalty to no one and nothing.

yes, i remenber the "plank case " well, it was at Spa, Michael won fair and square, the plank was damaged due to him loosing control and running over a kerb...it was just a poor excuse to try and give damon a chance, because by then the championship was already lost...they also suspended Michael for a couple of races because his team told him to stay on track after he had been black flagged...not his fault but the team's....i remenber same hapened to Mansell at ferrari and he only got one race ban. Again senna did what he did at suzuka and nothing happened to him, Michael was disqualified from the championship, so the FIA was never linient on Shumacher.
What benetton did was no different than what mercedes has been doing...and the FIA keeps turning a blind eye to it...Damon was never championship material (if he wasn't british he would never have driven for williams), the fact that he was able to win it just shows how flawed the sport is, and how ridiculous it is to determine a driver's talent or greatness by his statistics.

Nobody asks you to. It's not a matter of need, it's a matter of passion, i love Ferrari, it's a big part of my life and i embrace it. I don't really know why, or when, i just know that since the time i have a memory i' have been fascinated by the red cars, i don't own one, have never driven one (still hope i will one day) but this doesn't stop me from being crazy about them...i like a lot more racing Ferraris than street ones, to me the f.1 team is much more important than the road division, i see Ferrari as a team, not as a car builder. It may sound primitive to you, but love and fascination are not reasonable things...why did i fell in love with my wife? and not some other girl? why Ferrari and not some other team? Why dogs instead of cats? To me this is part of lifes beauty, and i feel no need to understand or rationalize it.

Everyone: the discussion of a driver concealing his sexuality is forbidden, as is insinuating to other posters that a driver has a sexuality other than his public pronouncements - clearly the participants here are not mature enough to have any such discussion in a respectful manner without trying to goad and point-score off each other. In future, such suggestions about concealed sexuality will be viewed as made purely to incite the fan group of the driver and will be treated as trolling. If you want to have a risque discussion about sexuality in general, I suggest the Backroom Lounge in Silver Subscribed. If you want to discuss society's views on sexuality and how that affects us culturally or politically, I suggest the P&R subforum in Silver Subscribed. This forum is for the discussion of Formula 1 racing and is not the appropriate digital venue for that discussion.

This thread has run its course and will now be closed. Continuing the disputes in here in another thread will result in severe loss of site access.

    All the best,
    Andrew.
