This was this past saturday....I drive that road many times....it can be tretcherous hundreds of hidden drives and short patienced people its here http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=146692
From what I heard, the driver was banged up. In addition, the damage (from what I heard) was due to the emergency services, attempting to get to the passengers as fast as possible.
Clearly. Look at the deformation. What force vectors would produce such a mess? Almost looks like a grenade went off inside the car.
I second that emotion! It is amazing how far cars have come in terms of safety, especially sports cars. Not many crumple zones in a Countach or BB...at least, though, these are safer than, say, my Triumph TR3. (Nothing like driving a car with cutaway doors where your head is at the level of most SUV bumpers. To make it worse, Pete Snell (of Snell helmet ratings) was killed in a sidescreen TR!!!)
I looked at a Countach recently and the frame looks much smaller and less robust than a Boxer, especially up front. I think a Boxer would hold up a little better than this. Scott
