Ice Breaker - Best whole house, wireless music system?

Been put onto Sonos, which fits in with my techy background, will link into MP3/FLAC server to deliver whole house music.

What else should I be considering?

 

lots of people swear by sonos. i have a few friends with it - they're fans.

if you want to go a slightly geekier route (which i did), set up your own file server with your music on it running SlimServer (open source) and then use Roku Soundbridge devices http://www.rokulabs.com/products_soundbridge.php or SlimDevices Squeezeboxes http://www.slimdevices.com/pi_squeezebox.html .
