    So,
I have been thinking about this and would like some feedback. By the looks of things our Canada section seems to be growing abit.

Is it possible, and would anyone be intrested if we tried to organize our own meet from coast to coast if possible?

    Im thinking:

    1) the montreal/ottawa (eastern) folks drive into T.O.

    2) Both Montreal/Ottawa and T.O group head out west into a mid point.

    3) the Calgary/Sask/Edmon/Vanc team haed east and we meet in the middle somewhere.

Im thinking 3 days as a group with a partner or mate and book a hotel and do the scene with fcars out in the middle of bum **** Canada and do a few lunches and dinner together and then head back to our respective cities.

Of course, we all would need to take a week holiday to do this together, rain or shine pay fo rthe rooms and book in advance.

Any thoughts on this ? Is it at all possible to do? Or is it pie in the sky?

A week long event?...sounds very ambitious to me!

Although it is a great idea in theory..imagine a summer time meet in Banff for instance :) , I imagine getting serious comittment from enough people for a week long event many days-a-drive away might be a little far fetched.
Im nervous enough driving my car to Niagra falls, lol. Imagine what others might feel like with older or less reliable models! I don't think I would have risked it in my 355, for instance..

Practically speaking, it might be more sensible/feasible to arrange a Toronto/Montreal/Ottawa get together....maybe in the Thousand Island area/ Kingston area...lots of nice resorts nearby and fairly equi-distant for the members in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. Perhaps for a long weekend, maybe with some forrays into the U.S (border is nearby)..lots of very gorgeous, scenic routes out that way..I used to camp near Ganaoque all the time.

For those in the West, perhaps a Vancouver/Calgary/Edmonton meet at a central location.

I'm afraid the large size of our country, the relative logistics of our members/major cities, and the usual fear of driving F-cars too far away from home base might be enough to scuttle any other "more ambitious" plans of a national sort...unfortunate, but most likely true.

But the more I think about this...the better it sounds.

Anybody else have any thoughts or opinions regarding this type of a get together. Any useful suggestons for changes or alternate locations?
I could definately get into this....

Thats what Im talking about Steve.

Ideas to work something out like this would be great.

As for the cars that are older, and maybe afraid of unreliabilty, get it serviced first, and looked over. That will help eliminate any problems.

You know I love the Falls!..or is it the Casinos?

My point was simply that it actualy crosses my mind regarding driving the 550 there...where as anywhere in Toronto wouldn't faze me.
A drive of 2 days duration might give me a coronary...and my car is supposed to be a relatively reliable model, lol!

That's a pretty good idea Rick. Steve's proposal sounds far more realistic though. I could see that happening, the Toronto/Ottawa/Montreal owners doing a gathered event. I just realized... that's A LOT of Fcars form those three areas. I'd say anywhere form 25-30 FCars may be a realistic turn out of such a combo event.

I'll wait a few years until I at least have my own car before naything like this ever took place. You guys should do this, it would be incredible. Good story times too, as always!

Casinos...Falls....really one in the same now.

As much as I like the idea of a country-wide meet, I prefer the idea of a Toronto/Montreal/Ottawa meet. Of course, I'm willing to drive the Golf pretty much anywhere, although I know I couldn't keep up with the rest of you. I guess this means I need to work a heckuva lot harder and buy a Ferrari. Now if only I had a better job with a better salary.........

Two days drive? The way you guys motor, I would give you 1 day to make it at some mid-point between BC and Ontario. :)

Or everyone could join the FCA, they have these events planed out already! There is a 1000 Islands week-end already in the works and the Ottawa Italian day parade.

What I wouldn't mind doing is heading down to Florida in a convoy of Ferraris for the "Ferraris at Disney" event.
