My 89 328 used to idle at 900 RPM before a recent light service. Now it idles at 1350 cold and 1100 hot. It seems a little high?

I'm certainly no expert - but my '86 328 idles at 900 after 10 minutes warming
in the garage. Major service last August. She starts out at 1200 or so, then
kicks down to 1000 but a little 'chuggy' - then after 10 minutes settles in at 900
and is responsive as can be. Hopefully I'M not the one with the oddball...

Nothing too horrible with those numbers -- the warm idle spec is 1000 +/- 100 RPM so you went from the low side to the high side (but your tach is essentially just an analog voltmeter so its own accuracy may not be so wonderful, and unless you've confirmed it using a digital method -- either from the ignition spark events or the RPM flywheel sensor output -- a 100 RPM difference could be the tach itself rather than a real RPM error).
