Friend is ordering a Cali to supplement his 599 GTB, this forum had a lot to do with the colour combinations we choose, incidently the trend was set for red inserts in Daytona seats....hadnt been done here in South Africa before...

The 599 has nero daytonas with the aformentioned red inserts and red sticthing, and maroon carpets. My thinking is that black is too dark for the interior of a convertible and are leaning towards beige but beige is predictable, crema is perhaps too light....there is the darker beige, ciau I think its called(you can clearly see I am useless when it comes to interior colours...), perhaps with red inserts again and red carpets. Problem with this is that a black steering wheel might jar a bit and a beige one doesnt look too great.

Exterior colour is going to be Rosso Corsa.

Any other ideas regarding interior colour choices.

I like pairing a beige(tan ) interior with Rosso Corsca. In the photos of the press cars the steering wheel and dash are also in beige. My only questions would be with a light colored dash do reflections occur and with a light colored steering wheel will there be a lot of discoloration at the 10 and 2 positions where one spends most of the time holding the steeringwheel?

Black dash top and Black steering wheel may not be as sexy but may be more livable choices.

Okay-I don't have any skills with photoshop. But I was thinking how to dress up the interior.

Of course, you can pay the extra 5K for daytona seats.

But, a cheaper alternative would be to have contrasting stitching and/or different leather colors.

That looks great! Am thinking of something like that but with the Daytona seats.....but with a black steering wheel and dash....I do beleive the tan does cause some bad reflections and having seen a 575SA with a tan steering wheel, there is definately some discolouration around the 10-2 point on the wheel...

Does this thread mean there is an options sheet available to clarify what colours trims and locations can be specified ?

How can that be for a car that is effectively not announced yet ?

Am assuming colours and trim availible on the California will be much in line with the rest of the Ferrari range.

Would be surprised if Daytona seats arent offered....as an option because again I think the stadard seats look too plain.

Rosso Corsa for the exterior pretty much limits you to shades of tan for the interior with a convertible. If crema is too light you could go with Sabbia (sand) which is light beige.

I don't know if Daytona seats in this car are the way to go or not. The original California did not have them, I do not think. Maybe then the standard seats with black stitching and/or piping, black carpets. Black upper dash and wheel.

Had forgotten about Sabbia, again I colour I havent seen here, but have seen picture of 430s on this forum and Sabbia looks great.

Good point about the Daytona seats, might be better go for the std seats, maybe red inserts and normal stitching....

    Back dash and steering wheel....

    Thanks for the opinion!

I think this car looks great in the blue they have been showing, what is it, California blue or Azzuro, with cream interior. The car wears that blue well.

If you are committed to red, I'd go Rossa Corsa with tan interior, red stiching and piping. No colored straps. Subtle.

I agree, red stitching will make the interior pop. The tan dash and steering wheel look great even though they might not be as practical.

Daytona seats in red stitching would be great but probably very expensive as they have to do the rears and I think adapting the front seats is more involved than previous STD seats. But we will see.

If you are going to do piping in a contrasting color, here's what it maight look like with the contrasting stripes. Again excuse my poor digital handywork!

Thanks again, red stictching and piping is perhaps a much better more subtle idea, the red stripes might shout too much.

Sabbia is looking like a great colour for seats to go with what will probably be maroon carpeting. As for the rear seats, I have been told that one doesnt have to order the car with them.

Blue for the exterior would have been fantastic but unfortunately in SA, if your Ferrari isnt redf its extremely difficult to sell...there is a Azzuro 575 thats been for sale for nearly 2 years.....

After seeing it in person sitting in it, etc not driving it. I think it will look better in almost any medium to dark color rather then Rosso Corsa. Dark Blue, Titanium, Black one of the interesting older metallic vintage colors will suit it better and make it appear smaller. The rep said many many options will be availabe for 19 & 20" wheels also colored wheels, an upgrade to the suspension would seem to be an option you must have also Nav and Sat. Radio. The Standard seats were very comfortable and looked great in solid color. The trunk had a passthru to the interior for long items, golf bags skis, etc. My Golden Retriever will love the area behind the front seats, lots of room there.
The details on the side are a bit overdone in person, but the headlights and roof are better in person then the photos appear. Tubi, Capristo etc will be losing business as the stock exhaust sounded great in a quick blip of the throttle. The top is very complicated but will attract attention going up and down. Car has chains on the engine, no belts to change frequently. 0-60 sub 4 seconds was mentioned, Overall ..........a nice Ferrari you could drive as an everyday car, but looks a bit too Maserati like for me, I would rather have a 430 or another vintage Ferrari.

I agree the red stripes might be too loud. The shade of red is critical. Ferrari has a more subtle red than I could show.
I like the daytona seat pattern and we'll have to see how well it fits with the rest of the interior but my guess is most will like it.

About light blue being a harder resell color- I was told exactly the same thing. But then Ferrari people meaning senior salespeople have also told me that they really liked the light blue press car they saw!

I think you will see a lot of F149's in Azzurro California as it is a traditional Ferrari convertable color and the car looks a lot better in it than red. It is also a press car color now. It seems to work with the lines of the car also.

Interesting....if blue is a tough sell colour in the USA with the relativelty speaking massive Ferrari market what hope is there in a market with an allocation of roughly 60 cars have....(yes 60 accross the entire range...)

Lighter shade of red might work but there are some question marks around the Daytona seats, found them very uncomfortable in the 430....but strangely very comfortable in the 599.

Thanks for the input Lusso, so you were impressed with the car in the metal, does it look nearly as big as it does in the pictures...for those of you that dont know its possible to fit a mountain bike in the boot...

Nav will be irrelevent here in SA, as we dont have the maps....but the suspension option sounds interesting...perhaps a less of a Florida setting perhaps! Glad to hear the car sounds good though, thats very good news indeed.
