hey everybody, my girlfriend goes to elon university over near burlington, nc. our anniversary is coming up and i want to take her someplace nice, but living 250 miles away in northern virginia makes finding restaurants down there difficult. so i was just wondering if any Fchat members knew of any good restaurants in the greensboro, burlington, or durham areas

Take her to FCI and order a pizza. That's what we did, but you'll have to sit in the kiddie chairs (the only place with a table).

    Let's see...

Italian: Tosca, near Brightleaf Square (my favorite, romantic, not cheap)
Pop's, Brightleaf Square (good food, louder and brighter)
Nana's, University Drive and Chapel Hill Blvd. (been around a long time)

Eclectic American: Four Square, near Chapel Hill Blvd. (superb)
    Magnolia Grille, Ninth Street (legendary)
Anotherthyme, Gregson St., Brightleaf Square (my favorite)

Eclectic, period: Parizade, Wachovia Building, near Ninth St. (excellent)
Vin Rouge, Ninth St. (superb French, another Bakatsias gem)

    Can't go wrong in Durham...

-Peter (bad power to weight ratio...)

I live 5 miles from Elon actually.
Anyways take her to Bianca's in Greensboro. It has been rated 5 Years in a row Best Italian and Romantic setting in the Triad (Greensboro, Winston Salem and High Point). You have to make reservations on the phone first "no walk ins". It's candle lit and ask for Sal. He is da man and hes a "Big Ferrari nut" lol . If you stop by the Days Inn Whitsett hotel near Burlington I have a coupon for that place to get a Carafe of Wine with two entrees. Just ask for me Bruce if you stop by here but usually I work everyday. 336-273-8114 is the number to make reservations. www.biancasrestaurant.com
If you both don't like Italian then check out The Angus Barn in Raleigh or The Melting Pot.

thats very generous of you but my girlfriend and i arent 21 yet so I don't know how well ordering a bottle of wine would go.

Yum Yum's in Greensboro. Old-school family hot dog/burger place. Good shakes, great hotdogs. :) About 45 seconds from the old FCI dealership.
