I would like to run some full page ads in Cavallino and Forza. Please offer your ideas. Here is a start... Needs to include image of 355 C for tax reasons. Diverse community from around the world and all models of Ferraris to non-owner enthusiasts. Free to participate w/additional features for subscribers. FerrariAds.com with hundreds of ads. Diverse topics from breaking news, technical Q&A, collectibles, to vintage. Regional "clubs" and discussions. Ease of use and functionality like search, ignore, auto-notify. Live chat. Consultant team to assist with your diverse questions. 13k+ users, 800k posts in archives, 6+ gb of images posted. Site is constantly updating with new information as 3,000 new posts added each day and about 10,000 unique user visits. Thinking about getting some various Ferraris for a picture to show the diversity of users, like 355 C, 308, 250 PF/330 2+2, TR, and 360 CS. Could post some FC gatherings to show we're not just an online community. Thank you, rob
How about this image? On a serious note, you can't just include pics that people have posted to the site. There's copyright laws involved, and model releases involved.
yes, we would of course get the photographers permission. the model release thing is hokey and I don't think enforceable or you would never see cars in any ads or on TV.
You really should look at this article: http://www.pdnedu.com/pdnedu/resources/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000694456 The model release was hammered into us in our photography classes way back in college. If the photo has a recognizeable person and is used for a commercial purpose, in general you need a release. That's why it's not a good idea to reuse event photos from here unless you can get a signed release from every identifiable person in the photo. I'm sure the lawyers can advise further offline.
Don't forget to mention the "open arms" policy towards newcomers LOL. Seriously what is your purpose? to raise the number of unique visitors? subscribers? awareness of the site to advertisers. Don't confuse the message in the ad shoud be to the point, don't try and appeal to everyone.
You mean "model"? I agree 100% I thought you meant I would have to get Ferraris permission to use a photo of MY car!
Are you going to use the picture of the 355C with that special "entertainer" on the hood of it? As I recall from one of your Rossa threads, she had some posture issues and was also severely garment-challenged. I think it would do a good job of recruitment. Release would not be a problem, I reckon. BTW, what is up with your GTE search? Change of heart, or it got vetoe's by the CFO?
I might actually look for the 456 first. Vintage prices scare me how much they've gone up lately with the dollar going down. Call me a pessimist on it, but I think they have to recover to earth shortly.
Ok Rob! Since I have some spare time Ill hook you up with Pebbles! She is BIG and draws a crowd! Just send me some shots of your 355 and Ill see what I can do for you.
I was all over the 456, too. But then....I found something that was: 1. $25K less to buy 2. Actually quicker 3. Would not cause me (showing up) issues at work (this is my daily driver) 4. Had factory warranty 5. Did not entail $7K service every 30K miles 6. Also had the 2+2 practicality 7. Was a newer, more modern car, with more safety features 8. Not styled with pop-up headlights (wife turn off) Drive one, you will be surprised http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38007
Hey Rob, Why don't you contact Dave (Dm-n-stuff) to see if you can use the F-chat poster as a background? You know kind of fade it in behind the printing that you want. Might look pretty good and already has your 355C in it right? http://www.pennphoto.com/pages/dave/ferrariChat.com_poster_v10.jpg
Rob. Might be a little busy for a background, but if you want it, I can send you high res of it, along with all the pictures that went into it. Actually, it works ok. I was pretty careful not to have Ferrari badges prominent on the poster, so, you may be able to avoid any hassles with the folks at FNA. Just let me know, Dave Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
rob as cavallino and forza are also read outside of the USA, you may want to mention that fchat is international. if you would like to use some extraordinary pics, you may ask ton visser, who is collecting and reissuing on cd all the pics made at the european ferrarichat rally 2004 in switzerland with spectacular pics from the famous swiss pass roads, especially the "tremola", the more than 150 years old cobble-stoned pass road over the st. gotthard pass. i'm sure you will easily get the necessary permissions to use the pics.
Feel free to use any of these photos: http://www.fast-autos.net/features/04fca/track/68.jpg http://www.fast-autos.net/features/04fca/track/69.jpg http://www.fast-autos.net/features/04fca/track/70.jpg Email me if you want a higher resolution
Keep it clean and uncluttered. Most of the ads I see in those magazines are 'classy' and collages aren't so. http://www.fast-autos.net/features/04fca/track/68.jpg as suggest, this could work very very well. You could also have a snippet or screen shot of one of the threads in particular. I remember it in the Vintage section but cannot locate it at this time. It's where someone inquired about a car, and someone then followed up by stating how they were a personal mechanic for that particular car for the previous 12 years. Then again, that might be too cluttered / too much info as it is.
I just wanted to echo this important point, in case it got missed in the "release form" debate. You could always just say "#1 Online Ferrari Community" -- but that may or may not speak to your "target audience". If you're marketing for advertisers, you want to stress the daily visit rate. For new users, stress the mix of technical knowledge and "comfy chair" discussions. For investors, stress the growth rate, particularly regarding subscribers. You have to target advertising for the market you want to reach. Ads just to say "look at me" are a poor investment. You don't enter a conversation by spouting the daily headlines -- you have to speak to the topic at hand. This also goes for other forms of communications -- web sites, resumes, advertising. You tailor the communications to the message. In engineering, this is known as "signal to noise ratio".
Thank you Rob Yeah I actually took a re-look threw of the pictures to see, I mean I always tell her to stand up strait and stuff. But I do that so she wont have posture problems BTW if you do want to do some kind of sexy girl type thing in the add clothing on Im sure we could work something out, maybe even get 1 or 2 of the other girls as well. She has 3 racing type outfits that she dances in that could work nicely with your 355 C.
For some reason, the models could not stand up straight. They all appeared to be sliding off the hood of the Challenge car, in the middle of some sort of a hip thrust, tripod-like stance/maneuver. I will not even mention the strange cotter pin devices attached to some parts of the anatomy. This world is of course completely strange to me, yet I think that depiction of it would work well in an adverr for Fchat.
I am a graphic designer - I'd be willing to help in the design/concepting of the ad if you need. I agree, it needs to be clean, eye-catching and targeted to a specific audience. What would you say the audience is? Middle-aged males? The demographic of the audience would dictate the overall look and appeal to the target.
Is there really a specific target audience for the Ferrari market? The range of owners is diverse with one thing in common, money.
