is there not a trickle charge plug installed from the factory?

My 350 has one tucked into the passenger side brake cooling duct. Just get a tender, plug it in, buy the time you get back you should be all charged back up.

Otherwise, call the dealer, they'll figure it out for you.

Jumping it is not a great idea, if it's anything like the 360. All kinds of warnings about zapping the dash if you're careless.

If it's completely dead a battery tender might not do the job. You might need to charge the battery a bit first.

Consult your owner's manual, I'll bet there's a "+" terminal in the engine compartment that you can connect a charger to (clamp the "-" cable to a grounded bolt somewhere nearby).

After a little while you'll probably have enough juice in the battery to make things work.

 

Try a trickle charger via the lighter socket if that is live with the key off on your 430.

I have six of the All-In-One units. They will bring back a totally flat battery.

You can buy direct or from Amazon, and no I don't have any affiliation with the company other than being a loyal customer.

 

There is a pull handle under the dash , on the left site . this opens the front boot.
the battery is behind the panel under the passengers feet.

You can jump start it with good anti zap jumper leads.

i suggest , turn off the battery from the switch under the bonnet.
put the battery on charge ,
you may need to get a charger that will charge the battery from flat.

hook it up directly to the battery & leave it overnight.

By US DOT law, there has to be a "manual release" mechanism somewhere on the car to open boots / bonnets in the event of failure of the primary (electric) release. Someone can probably chime in as to where this backup release is on the 430 and how it is activated?

 

Steven- Go to this site, download an owner's manual for the F430, and look up the location of the emergency releases for the front and rear lids. You can then recharge the battery, one way or the other. Personally, I would not jump the battery, but then I never was particularly adventurous, except for having 2000 hours of fighter time.

There are a surprising large number of posts about dead F430 batteries. If I had an F430 I would probably be among them-falling asleep in the driver's seat fondling the leather, listening to music.

Battery is in passenger footwell. Battery has a disconnect switch for long storage with a short 10 second 'self learning' procedure on reconnect. Glad someone was thinking ahead.

Found a page in the OM devoted to 'Opening the Fuel Filler Cap Flap' in cases of electrical non-function there is an emergency handle in the engine compartment. Fancy.
