I don't know whether to laugh or cry... How can you fail so hard in a car that is so controllable and civilized??

I've seen the posted on other forums. I still can't believe anyone would ride with that guy. I'd expect to end up in the hospital after riding with him.

Everybody who laughes about the Nürburgring "amateurs" should know that every beginning on the Ring always looks bad and is unsafe.

I have competed three times in 24hours Nürburgring race etc. and even for this and other Ring races "amateurs" were accepted which led to some really dangerous situations. It became better in recent years but there are still to many unsafe and unexperienced drivers competing.

Especially for "amateurs" with powerful cars its hard to accept to be overtaken by a small "expert driven" cars realizing that they lost three or four car length in one curve. That why those "amateurs" are constantly in conflict between driving "cool" and getting in "hot mood" where unsafe driving always starts.

There's a difference between a novice racing driver wearing a helmet and driving a properly prepared race car (rollcage etc) compared to these nutcases who risk loosing their heads when they flip their road going M3. I even doubt the rear passenger who filmed the lap was wearing a seat belt.

I've been around the Ring a few times both as a passenger as well as a driver. I only went as a passenger with someone who knows the ring and knows how to driver with a prepared car and full helmets.

With my own street car I behaved properly and even though it was a faster car on paper I always made room for the 'locals' in their hot hatches.

Never use your own car for "hard" testdriving the Ring:
The bodywork will suffer from the driving forces flewing from wheels over the suspension to the body.
So don´t be surprised if you park your car with left side on the street and right side on the pavement and the door is not opening/closing properly.

how many laps/how hard did you drive to have these effects????
friend had done about 150laps in a GT3, no problemo at all

    i have done about 75 in a Morgan RoadsterV6
and only broke a Ubolt on the suspension

The BMW's time was 9:17. Not too bad for an amateur on street tires.

Its not only a matter of the quantity of laps but of speed, braking and how hard taking the curbs and the sort of tyres you use.

If have slick like means soft tyres on a "normal" not GT2 car then the "twisting" starts earlier.

If you drive a full summer season private testing at the Ring you have to refit the bodywork in winter.

Remember how fast and therefore hard you go over the curb in the fast left hand curve after "Fuchsröhre" shifting from 6th back to 4th (off course depending of the car) only to mention one occasion you decide about the health of your suspension, brakes, tyres and in the end about the "tiring" of the bodywork.

rear passenger? if you're talking about the 7s video it's obviously a helmet cam. (but probably on a hat or eyeglasses, not a helmet)
