When I came out of my house this morning at about 640am, my motorcycle was laying on its side....sigh....$1800 in damage(not including labor costs)....These fools tried to steal my bike but ended up knowing it over because the tree was locked and you can't steer it....They tried stealing the mirrors off it($150 for the pair) but apparantly took too long to get off(1 inch long double sided bolts/2inches total length) or got spooked by a car since they were only half way off.....My exhaust, front right floorboard AND mounting bracket, right mirror, and highway bars are all having to be replaced. I'll be taking the bike to the dealer to get a further evaluation done(motor, tranny, etc.) to ensure no other damage was done, I doubt it since it seemed like the bike didn't fall over too hard. There's only 5k miles on the bike...dammit...I don't know if these are the same guys who tried to steal my car about a month and a half ago too. . . . .My wife and I bust *** to buy the things we have. . . .It just pisses me off to see someone trying to just take it and touch it....I'll be setting up cameras in the next couple of nights to hopefully catch who may be prowling around here at night....hopefully....

Buy a fingerprint kit off the internet and try to get prints off the bike and whatever they try to steal. Lifting prints is easy. You can practice on household items with your own prints on windows, glass tables, etc. You can do just as good as the cops with about an hour of practice. If you get prints off the bike give them to a private detective and they can get them run for you. See what happens from there.

Don't expect the cops to lift prints. They normally only do this in serious cases.

I'm aware of lifting prints, I am a police officer....lol....A lot of departments won't lift unless you have a suspect list or specifically request the process be done. Fingerprints can cost a bit of money to be processed as well independently...I contact my insurance company and am installing cameras to hopefully match a face to the ordeal....If they even come back....

I'm sorry guy. You work at the Hyatt Regency. You're not a police officer. With one phone call, I could call the New Brausfield PD and told them you're impersonating an officer (FELONY) you would never get a job as an officer. I suggest you stick to "I work at the Hyatt" until you get hired.

I am a certified peace officer for Texas.... I did go through crime scene processing, so I am aware of how to lift prints BOG....I'm sorry for the confusion, but to clear it up...I am a certified Peace Officer(comission has not been picked up by a department yet). Look through all my threads, I've mentioned it numerous times(academy activity). You should be able to look me up through the TCLEOSE site as well....Yes, I do work at the Hyatt, been there for two years....BTW, which one do you work for?

Mike, don't worry about it.....I made a mistake(innocently) saying Police Officer, when I am in fact a Certified Peace Officer(commission not yet picked up by a specific PD). Let's just leave it alone, I don't need anymore threats or someone anyone trying to ruin my career before it's even started(officially). Those that know me, know that I don't pretend to be someone I'm not. I also don't try running around to impress people, that wasn't my motive or intentions....

    I am worried about it!

You need to be picked up quick.

I need someone on the inside. Someone to tell me when the cops are getting close. I was sort of hoping you would be that someone.

Sorry, I shouldn't have even said anything. I just think it's horrible for someone to try to ruin your career and possibly your dream before it even starts. It's something that I'm sure you have worked very hard for. We need good police officers and I'm sure you would make a great one.

    Hey Chad,
The last time we left the Hyatt after seeing you we hit 140mph in the 400i out on I-10. You need to get on board with a city or the state so next time I get caught I can drop your name. :)

We may be out your way on Sunday with the GT4.
