I have changed this pipe with a nice braided Russell plumbing pipe, and the suction squeezes the pipe together flat. I know this pipe is used for the AAV when cold and the idle air, but how does it work. I have opened the knob as to allow more air so the pipe won’t go flat but the idle surges high above the 1000 rpms. Does anybody have any recommendation as to which pipe to us?

One option might be to use the vacuum hose used in brake booster applications. It has a heavier wall thickness (for a given ID) to specifically prevent collapse when under vacuum. (Any Auto Parts Store should have it.)

I don't know what Russell plumbing pipe is, but it was apparently not designed to withstand vacuum.
I agree-- get some tubing designed to be vacuum hose.
