Hi all, Today for the first time in three years of ownership,my 78 carb 308 played me a new trick.Engine is cold from yesterday(i took it for a nice drive on the freeway where I pushed it a bit),I press the accelerator two times as usual before starting the car.It starts and then stalls, nothing unusual so far for a carb car.I start it again and all of a sudden,it revs all the way to 3.000 then to 2.500 and stays that way.Usually since I have the choke disconnected, the idle is very low. While driving the car,the idle stayed at 2.500 then back to normal and then back up again. It felt very weird, like the accelerator was stuck.Does it sound like a carb issue? Thanks for your advices, cheers from Paris, olivier.
Don't forget to check the ever so common problem on these cars.......the floor mat pushed against the accelerator!
