Er thats bolloxs, Glock was on the wrong tyres, slicks and wet tracks don't work that well, yes it really is and was that simple.
At the end of the day, whoever lifts the WDC trophy or the WCC, they truly deserve it. The season has been long, and stressful for everyone.
Your thoughts on Kovalainen letting Hamilton by at Hockenheim in 2008 when Hamilton ended up winning the title by a single point? These McLaren guys...short memories.
Win a inch win by a mile it amounts to same, a win in this case a WDC. This reminds me of you watching it Image Unavailable, Please Login
If Massa hadn't let Alonso through at Hockenheim and Alonso looses the title by 7 points this year, then the Scuderia Ferrari would look like total morons. And everybody on here would rightfully call for Domenicali's head. The team is in this to win the title by any means possible. The fact that the Red Bull management doesn't have the balls to pick one of its drivers over the other isn't the Scuderia's problem.
The only thing Ferrari did "wrong" was make it look obvious. I have no problem with "team orders". It's no different than a baseball manager saying his star batter has to bunt. The batter may not like it, but it's what the boss thinks is best for the team.
Gee thanks, that's exactly my point genius. All of the hypocrites like Whitmarsh and other McLaren fanboys crying foul over SF and Alonso must have Alzheimer's because team orders (at the same track even) allowed LH to win the title in 2008. Also, you could probably post a picture of yourself watching the 2008 finale but I think sexually explicit images are against the F-chat terms of service...
espnf1.com .. quute Stirling Moss interview regarding the current contenders... <But of course I never won the title; I finished second four times, lost by a couple of points one year and by one the next, all for different reasons. The closest I came was in 1958 when I entered the final grand prix in Morocco needing to win, secure the fastest lap and have Mike Hawthorn finish lower than second. I went there knowing exactly what I needed to do and crossed the line with the win and the fastest lap, with Mike back in third. Of course Mike's Ferrari team-mate Phil Hill did the correct thing and let Mike through to take second, allowing him to win the title by a single point. Incidentally, there was never any ill feeling about that from either side, which should also be the case if Alonso wins the title for Ferrari this year. >
I don't want a battle of wits with you, as I see you have only come half prepared. Your posts are just so biased and full of loathing for Hamilton you just tie yourself in knots, all because your hate is so intense, a sad world you live in. advice : stop making yourself into cannon fodder. The only person I see crying is [you. or Try limbo dancing, you'd be good, ya know that trick where things go over your head...
Nobody gives a damn about a driver being gifted 4th place by a teammate. LH still needed to pass three more cars to win and he accomplished that legitimately. HK made no more passes so he really gave up nothing, not even a podium. Alonso's gift was much worse from a sporting point of view because it directly resulted in the win. Having said that, I don't see either championship being tainted by team orders. Just that one was a non-event and doesn't even deserve the comparison. Comparing Coulthard and Hakkinnen in Austrailia 1998 would be more accurate.
I thought so too at the time. I also thought that Zo would be a cancer to Ferrari. I was wrong on both points.
Didn't Moss willingly hand over his car to Fangio (talk about team orders) an act that in effect killed his shot at the championship?
At the 1957 season-ending Italian Grand Prix, Fangio's Ferrari team mate Peter Collins, who was in a position to win the World Championship with just 15 laps to go, handed over his car to Fangio. They shared the six points won for second place, giving Fangio the World title.
Thanks. I knew it was Fangio and a Brit. I wonder how many fans and writers went ape-**** over those team orders?
I think the point is that in 2010, people are fed up with manipulated sports. Steroids in baseball etc. The current team orders 'mess' is a controversy because people want to see pure competition instead of a contrived race. Especially when you pay a lot to go to a race; or spend time watching on tv. there's a thread on a different site that says the wdc should be abolished because if team orders continue; then what value is the wdc? This would never happen, but it's interesting that such a thread exists. That's why the Red Bull situation has been a breath of fresh air; let them go head to head all year. Notice I have not mentioned Alonso at all. Ferrari has always been an arrogant company; now they are giving F1 a big FU by backing one driver blatantly, and it's a very unpopular stance. Just look at the controversy is causing ( Massa jail??) and the title hasn't been decided. I hope one of the Red Bull drivers wins it. Kevin
could be right too. I'd have put money on Vettel to leave Webber in his dust, as I would have with hammo/button, but there you go...good old unpredictable F1
That's where the smart money would have gone, no question. But they run the races for a reason Ferrari may have F'd up in Germany but RB has F'd up all season when it comes to "driver management".
