If Enzo were alive today what.........?

are you really 107 years old?

 

I'm not trying to piss anyone off here, so bare with me and take this post for what it's worth... which may be nothing.

A lot of people talk about Enzo as if he was the greatest man ever. I personally have never spent much time researching this, as I honestly don't care - I just like the cars. The one thing that sticks out in my mind is the way Enzo supposedly talked to Ferrucio, which makes him sound, to me, like an arrogant prick... not a knight in shining armor.

Actually, he was a genius when it came to cars but was not a "people" person from my understanding. I have read quite a few books on him and he has come a long way in his lifetime. He is one of the "rags to riches" stories you hear about (going from sleeping in a park bench -no money- to creating this automotive empire) and in that way, i highly respect him. However, he was not a people person as mentioned before and treated alot of people poorly.

 

On another note... I couldn't help but notice something we have in common in your "interests"

 

"I am sorry Mr. Ferrari, I don't speak Italian."

I have always felt it was the reverse. He knew little about cars but knew how to assemble a team that did. That's people skills.
He was the type of person that just had "it" that made people want to please him. It is something you are born with. Paul William Bryant was the same way. Overpowering personality and a uncanny ability to nearly always win. You either hated him or would take a bullet for him.

If Enzo were alive today, Honestly, i wouldnt know what to say to him.
My dream of owning a Ferrari came true years ago and to see the very man that created this dream, would leave me speechless.

 

Enzo didn't create any road car. He wouldn't give a rat's a** for one. Enzo was only interested in competion and victories not much else.

Johnny: It's a red 360.

enzo: What the **** is a 360?

Johnny: Well, you made it.

Enzo: the hell I made it!

Johnny: but, but...

Enzo: BUT, BUT nothing. Say, what's your name anyway?

Enzo: well Johnny, get in your car and go pick me up a canolli.

 

I would shake his hand firmly and ask what he would have done differently on the Enzo.
