For me, no. It wouldn't be F1 anymore. Hearing the engine is a major part of why I enjoy the sport now.

No it wouldn't be much different than scale 1:1 slot cars. I have zero interest in watching electric cars race.

Only if it’ll make for even faster cars and a more dramatic show. Biggest problem with fe so far is the lack of speed not the missing noise imo.

They would need to add artificial gasoline engine sounds! I don't care if it's not a V-12 if it at least sounds like one! :D

Its already half electric and my interest has dropped by the same amount. So it isn't about if but when. But by then I think it will be like a super video game. The cars will drive themselves and people will pay for the thrill of being strapped into the seat and being wisked around a small circuit. Modern F1 is no different than modern street cars...just shadows of the elegance and artistry of the past machines.

I can buy a remote control toy car. I don't need to watch it. All electric isn't sport.

In the the past when they used 10 and 12 cylinder engines, F1 had a unique sound of all forms of racing. The high pitched scream was so different from anything else in racing. Now we have leaf blowers running around. And no, electric has no interest for me.

Nope. I hate the current rules. Give these v6 turbos enough fuel to rev up to 18k rpm's.

Not a chance. Formula E is so **** I couldn’t watch more than a few minutes before I switched it off, electric cars are just big toys, they’ll never attract real race fans en masse

anyone remember the dualing 12cyl. screamers (alfa, ferrari) doing battle during the early '80's? saw them at watkins. i've been blessed to witness that!
it was the ode to end a time of engines we'll likely never hear again! i could see the handwriting on the wall. for other political reasons at the time.
but....... as long as there is a ferrari racing in f1, i will be true.
although not hearing the cars may coincide with my approaching deafness.
guess i'll put my ear to the tv ala beethoven and the piano.

I'm Tifosi, so following Formula One all depends on Ferrari.

    If they're in F1 - I will follow it.
If they're no longer in F1 - I will no longer follow it.

That goes for whatever power-unit F1 use, be it all electric, petrol/hybrid or whatever.

... and I also suggest to replace drivers by AI computers. o_O

(Would save tons of money and you could have 52 races per year!)

Bravo Bill. I SAID BRAVO BILL!!!;) I miss the multi-cylinder screamers too. You forgot to mention Matra the greatest screamer of them all.

It's hard enough now to care.

If Hamilton won the last 2 races I probably wouldn't care very much about the rest of this season. At least now it’s intereting but it would be a lot less interesting with a constant weeeeeeeeeeeseeeee in my ears.

F1 shouldn´t be vintage racing. If cars become electric, then F1 must be electric. Actually, F1 should become electric before all the road cars market, if it´s supposed to be state of the art technology. But, despite the vaporware sellers like Elon Musk say, I think that for good or for bad we´ll have petrol cars for quite a long time.

Can electric cars be so exciting as petrol ones? Not yet, but time will tell. I´ll decide then if I keep watching car races.
