Not to sound offensive [And believe me that I'm not being offensive], what is the relevance of stating you offspring's academic education level? Is it meant to give more validity or credence to the question?

The question would have been valid, irrespective of the education of the person posting the question; and it is a valid question by her.

    Cheers :)

It would never happen, playing devils advocate here: what if every racer started with 1000 points at the start of the season. Then, points are subtracted based on finishing place for every race. Say, first place loses no points, 2nd loses 1, 3rd loses 3, 4th loses 5 points, etc.. The most points at the end of season wins the WDC.

Surely this system would ensure every racer would strive for the best result every race, no? What say the board?

NASCAR is suffering absolute plummeting ratings since going to a reset every three races chase. The early races no longer feel like they matter.

In F1, every point, every position, in every race, counts, and it makes it more worthwhile to watch a season.
