You can get them serviced at Just Jaguar in Sherman Oaks, CA.

I don't think Allan could pry one of the S versions from the owner's dead hands. For 250 GTO money, I bet one of the 8 might sell. Maybe. Are they worth that money? Only to those who appreciate them. The owners spend big money to get them, can you afford the car and buy the love from the enthusiast too? Too few and far too many collectors, just mod a regular one.

Then I invite you to ask the local owners here in So Cal how many million it will take to get them to part with their "precious." Race cars are a lot harder to let go and if they are supposedly "not all that", you can get several F40's for the price of 1. Asking an XJ220-S owner is asking someone who owns one of the Le Mans C or D-Types to sell their car. Unless you bleed $$$ along with Jaguar Racing Green, why bother? Buy a McLaren F1 instead.

Changing the wheels is a must! Those have got to be the ugliest wheels available on a supercar. Other than that its awesome IMO

The XJ220 was originally slated to use a 6 or 7 litre V12, developed from the XJR race cars, which is why the V6 seems such a loose fit.

For the money it costs I'ld save up a bit and buy an F50 then turn to Koennigg to turbo charge the thing...
The Mac is also a great alternative but hey... I'm just a Ferrari guy :)

Allan, it's a great car and Jags have very good reliability, although this isn't your everyday Jag...
Has an investment it'ld probably be a very good one, so think about it... and then let me drive it ;)

Put down the crackpipe and step away from the computer son. What planet do you hail from? Before Ford came into the scene, Jags were built like crap. The electronic gremlins that came out of the Jaguar plant are freakin legendary! Now that Ford is on the job, reliability is slightly up but who gives a flying fark when all you're driving is a rebodied Contour.

Watched a programe quite a few years back now of the guys building these
xj220 engines, its just amazing how they stretch the block apart to get the crank main caps in,the special tools all set to spec just incase you crack the block, not nice to watch but im sure it clamps the crank in well and good,
all the engines were dyno tested before fitting to the cars,
    cheers
    Dale.

Considering super low milage XJ's sell for the price of a new 360 spyder I think its a Supercar bargain. The car is sooo rare and beautiful. It is very large and has a lot of road presance. The factory wheels are super ugly but boy does that body look hot when you throw some aftermarket wheels on it. Also looking at the size of the factory turbo's I think there is a lot of power to be made in this car with some tweaking I bet 800hp crank is well within reach. I think for a comfy, super fast, cruise car that packs twice the exotic punch of anything else in its price range this cars value is a deal bar none. If I was in the market for Supercar in the 200K range there would be no contest this is what would be in my garage.

It is quite amusing to hear people rant and rave about wheels. Cmon it
does not begin and end with wheels. That should be about # 19 on your
list of things. Oh I agree the wheels are quite bland. But have you seen
the rear 3/4 shot of that car on an angle ? What a rocket ship !!!!

What a bargain ! Too bad someone really lost their shirt in 1993.

Somehow Jag got away with screwing their buyers who lined up for that car.
That is not fair to offer a 12 and give a 6. The problems with the buyers
who gave deposits for the 12; is what caused the value to plummet.
How do you get away with offering a 12, and producing a turbo 6 ?

For that kind of $$$$ buyers "wanted" a noisy 12. Not a quiet 6.

    A great serious hypercar none-the-less.

It deserves a much better legacy.

You're more than twice my age :D Come up (weird, used to saying down) to Houston and we'll chill. Texas has a large Ferrari following we can distu.. accompany on trips :)

Wheels can make or brake a car however. Maybe not on rare exotics like this, but on a BMW, Mercedes, etc., even changing styles from one sort of 19's to another can increase looks by a significant amount.
