Although I really like Massa as a driver and as a person, Alonso is going to bury him. That would have been a problem for him even BEFORE his accident. I fear that Alsono will totally destroy Massa, psychologicaly and professionaly. Massa's chance has passed. Shame.

I agree 100%. I don't think Massa will except being #2 to the Super Star the way Barrichelo did with Schumacher. Gotta love his enthusiasm and competitive nature, but he just doesn't have the raw talent of an Alonso, Hamilton, Vettel, Kimi or even Kubica. IMVHO of course.

    Indeed.

What I find quite strange about his statement is it appears contradictory :
If he wants to blame anyone it has to be his team for the cock up.

Going to a lawyer with IF's n BUT's applies to every one else racing that day. There is no way that they could argue he should have or could have won that day.

IMO lewis would have more of case with lawyers in getting the results changed in that season, the FIA were meddling for meddling's sake to tighten the WDC which really hacked me off and alot of F1 fans.

I have grown to admire Massa for unrelenting improving his driving skill, his overtaking skill IMO has not been his strong point and when he does overtake its a teeth clenching moment, however he was real unlucky with that spring and I wish him the best.

It would be great to see Vettel on one of our red cars eventually. He seems to have real talent & a good attitude

Massa can still be a WDC. Just as he almost won it before over KR who is touted to be the cream of the crop; Place well when #1 shines. On "your" tracks dominate. When #1 dnf's pick up the pieces.
I am a firm believer that in today's F1 scene lady luck is more important than that few percents better/worse than your team-mate is. One beneficial race is all it takes.
It is actually quite amazing to me Ferrari's long term commitment to Massa. He must have some pictures ;)

BTW if Ferrari is to replace Massa and if they are still paying KR. KR is the obvious choice.
Problem is you cant buy motivation.

LOL...I think the caffeine has worn off from the last go round...I know It appears I'm an Alonso hater, but I'm not. I have more respect for the MEN who get in these cars and throw their bodies down the track then most. I don't care for the drama and he is one of the squeakiest wheels at the moment. I do appreciate his passion.

Yea, if he races again I don't think he's going to take being #2 too lightly. Let's face it even the Santander sponsorship with FA backing means Massa is slated for #2. I'm sure F are keeping a close eye on him as they don't want to blow things with a guy who might be questionable physically and also mentally if he chooses to have his nose out of joint.

    My worst nightmare.

Agreed. I said that about Piquet Jr. and was right to some degree. :)

Massa's no Piquet Jr - it's not like the performance is that lacking that you theorise underhanded tactics to retain a race seat. I just can't imagine him holding anything over Ferrari, I really can't.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

The Scuderia lives by some odd honor code: They think they have to keep a car seat warm for him as compensation for his bad luck this season. They also thought that they owed a couple races to BADoer. Look how that turned out.

At least we got now Alonso, he'll keep that whining brat in check and in his rearview mirror.

I agree Alonso will do better, but IF the two of them can get along they would make a great team.

Actually I don't have any passion about Kubica, neither pro nor con.

That statement was based on a somewhat valid speculation by the press. Ferrari needs a strong #2 and you-know-whom's contract expires at the end of 2010. Kubica needs a good seat and is best buddies with Alonso.

I feel the same about Kubica, not had the chance to shine of late, but IMO he is very good not sure how running mid to back will have effected him though.

My point about passion is, it is clear who you like and dislike, which is no bad thing, and is amusing to me.
However not relative to the post I replied to..;)

I compare F1 racing to medieval jousting where you picked your knight and/or castle he represented. Some knights are your favorites and some are their ennemies. Very black and white.

What might make me a tad different from the average F1 fan is that I don't have any driver preference based on his country. I'm not a big fan of chauvinism. So driver talent and personality are my primary criteria.

Well for me, what the guy does in the car is most paramount to me, I don't care much for who there girl friend is or what PR BS comes out of there mouths, although I do like a driver that says it as it is. Underneath it all they should all be top of the class drivers so it's easy to pick the fakes.

It is nice to see your country man to do well, however that does not apply to me in past years, so it does depend on a amalgamation of things for me.

I think a little mild chauvinism (you'd call it patriotism in the US) is pretty acceptable compared to 'hating' a driver.

I still like the thought of SV a little more, but RK is one of my favorite drivers as well so I hope one of us is right.
