As most of us know, Enzo was not too keen on the Ferrari road cars and, accordingly, concentrated his efforts on the racing team. So...who, then, back in the day, headed the road car development? Was it someone at Fiat once Ferrari made that deal? Or?

And...who oversees road car development today? I believe that Luca D. was fairly influencial in the creation of the F355, having essentially disowned the 348, but, again, what about today?

All I know is my great grandfather built a race car that dominated Enzo just before WWI. He later commented about the sheer power and sound of that engine... 60 degree V OHC 2v heads V12... his were smaller, and didn't have a gear driven camshaft.

If not Ralf DePalma and Carl Smith... then Enzo may have made engines that we never cared about...

    I'm just sayin' ;)

Enzo personally oversaw the road cars also, test driving the final design versions almost thru the F40...

Don't buy too heavily into the historical perspective..it was a VERY small company well into the '70s.

I once sat with a guy who said as he toured the Plant, it was SPOOKY how Enzo would appear and disappear at several points, without any of the modern monitoring and communication we have today.
