Congratulations Thomas!! Cant wait until my dream comes true :)
Hm...I was so quick to jump to the conclusion about the 355 I forgot to consider the 512TR. Indeed a BEAUTIFUL car, but I think I want a more 'gokartish' Ferrari. I dont know though...thats a really tough choice!
F355 in best possible shape.... preferably Black/Tan or Black/Red...Don't mind Silver/Red either...he he...
There were actually 104 serie fiorano spiders made. 4 are EURO spec and 100 were delivered to North America. Of the 100, only 10 are 6-speeds. I have been able to identify (and even locate a few) 9 of the 10 6-speed color combinations.
I will gamble it in stocks Set a 15% stop loss, if you lose, you get a F355 for 85k. If you are lucky and it goes up, you sell when you make 20%, and try to swing for a F360 coupe.
i've been pretty busy lately but wasn't too busy to catch this question a few days ago; of course, i've been toiling with it ever since... There's no sense for me to buy two Ferraris - once i've got one, it'll be the only thing i ever drive until it's done... So i'm torn between two cars... Would i get a sweet-ass Testarossa or a sweet-ass 355 Spider...? It's not an easy decision, by any means... i have to break it down... If i had the money to track the car; to be able to afford all of those materials, the added maintenance, etc., i'd buy a 355 Spider. If that $100,000 you gave me would be my only source of "Ferrari income", then i'd have to go with the Testarossa... Everytime someone says the word Testarossa or TR, i immediately think of Bruce's TR and the many times i've ridden in and driven it... The sound, the feeling, it's all so unreal... If i had the means (& Maranelloman or Jon Kofod as a teacher), i'd go with a 355 Spider...
hmm seems like 355 is the pop answer. i really like the 456 in black, but i think 365, or something else pre 1970 maybe i am simple but the 330 always caught my eye. does it count if you know a guy that restores them and therefore finds the fabled 250 in a barn in idaho for 50k?
Great question.... I truly don't know but it looks intimidating and it sounds unbelievable. MAG (F-authorized Midwest Auto Group) just did the major and they said it's some type of a customized and special designed exaust...Does anyone have any idea?
I'd buy two 308's ( a black one and a red one) so my girlfriend and I could race around and play with each other, without worry of high speeds that put us in jail or cars so expensive that we are afraid to get a dent or a scrape. Neither one of us can stand to ride in the passenger seat.
The 355 is faster around the track at Spa by 1 full second in stopping and acceleration over the 512M. And its easier to live with, more reliable, and cheaper to maintain. Easy enough.
some stats from my other tread 512tr- 428hp, torque 491 Nm, Dry weight 1595 kg 355- 380hp, torque 363 Nm at 6,000 rpm, Dry Wieght 1,350 kg
My first F-car, for which I lusted since I was 17, and finally bought a few years ago, in your price range, is a Dino 246GTS. Never regretted it for a moment. It's not as fast as the other cars quoted here, but it is IMHO the most beautiful car ever produced by Ferrari, fairly easy to service, and is appreciating in value while the other cars mentioned here are mostly on the depreciation downslope. The sound is awesome, handles like a go-kart, and if driving at high revs doesn't bother you it's plenty quick. The engine is bulletproof if it was well maintained. You can tune it yourself with no special computerized equipment. I'd pick the 246 again in a heartbeat.
