Personally, if I was a great F1 driver, I'd want to keep a single design and try to make it iconic and immediately associated with me as a driver rather than changing all the time. AKA: Senna, Graham Hill, Schumi (yes I know he changed his once), etc.
Good article. I've always wondered why he was changing helmet designs. Most drivers have historically been supersitious about changing helmet designs... I have as well. As noted in the thread most drivers have latched onto a design and stayed with it for their career. He clearly has proven that is not the same thing. I always thought that Eddie Irvine made a bad choice in chaning helmet designs when he joined Jaguar... i think it brought him bad luck! Lauda and Vettel are about the only guys i can remember who changed designs and still kept winning.
