Any car from any year on any track, what would you choose ?

You get 3 choices, in order please, and you are not limited to F1.

    1) 1983 Brabham-BMW at Monza in 1971

    2) Donohue's Can-Am Porsche 917-30 from 1973 to..... gosh..... Brands Hatch circa 1978 or so maybe ?

    3) 1982 Ferrari 126C to South Africa in 1979, or possibly to Monza circa 1971 also.

    Eh, pretty good question...

I would start with a ground-effects era F1 car. Lotus 79, Ligier or William FW07

I think I would like to try the Gulf Porsche 917 down the 4 mile Mulsanne Straight.

Third would be a '67 GP car, Ferrari or Lotus, to experience to drifting they did on the big tracks.

    Great thread idea!

How about a high-wing GP car from 1968-69 at a place like Laguna Seca ?

And then a ground-effects turbocar from 1983 at the same venue or maybe Riverside ? Elkhart Lake ? Dijon ?

And who could forget Roger Dorchey driving the Puegeot at LeMans circa 1985 or so at a reported 265 mph down the Mulsanne ? (before chicanes)

How about Bill Elliott's 220 mph stock car at Talledega ?

As was said prior, a dragster or funnycar would be awesome as well, good choice Matt. My only preference would be one of those from the 70's - back when they still looked halfway 'normal'.

As far as circuits go, any circuit before they watered them down with chicanes is fine with me.

the Ickx/Bellof Rothmans 956 around Nurburgring NS..... absolute no. 1 car/drive for me ;)

the 84 Tyrell does something for me... and i'd love to drive it at what was once the Detroit GP (in better then now condition)

the 92 Allard JX2 at Spa... this car may not have seen much raceing, or have much herritage... but holy conoly... that car influcences aerodynamic work even today! thoeretically, it would have over 10,000 lbs of d/f @ 200mph :0 :) can anybody say 'flat out at Eau Rouge!' :-D

I like your choices, AJT, but I'd have to dump one of them and add the 1983 Brabham BT-50 BMW.
