I ponder these questions occasionally, especially this time of year, winter, and when I think about which Ferrari I will have first.
My answer to both would be a 612 in grigio ingrio, because the 612 has the near-430/360 like handling, 575 GT ability, and four seats, and is competent in treacherous conditions.

    Your thoughts...............

Only one to do everything and has to be a Ferrari? I'd pick the 612.

    Get an Enzo.

Then sell it, buy a f40 and 612 with the earned revenue, and invest the leftovers.

Within what I have driven/ride in the past, 550 is most practical choice.

In my head, the answer will be F430, but I have nothing to judge the car yet.

    Boy, that's a difficult question.

I tried asking it to myself in a slightly different manner. I'm fortunate enough to currently own two Ferraris. They are quite different cars from different eras (even though their values are roughly comparable). So I tried to figure out which one I would give up if I had to. I couldn't decide.

Damn. Tough one. If it was anything but a Ferrari it would be a McLaren F1.

Hummm. Either F50 or 250 SWB

    Can't decide :(

    Probably SWB

If only one car for the rest of my life (ie must serve purpose of daily driver, etc) then a last generation BMW M5. I want to row my own gears, thank you.

My first F-car, and if it were my only f-car I would happy, will be my first love -- a 360 Modena coupe, gated six speed :)

Of course if I could have anyone it would have to be an Enzo but realistically, I would like my first Ferrari to be a 550/575 Maranello. I like both but have to wait till the time to choose which one. Probably a 550 first though.

Don't know about the 430, time will tell. The 360 F1 seems like the perfect choice if you have to use it as a daily driver also.

For a road Ferrari I would get a F40 or a 550. But a track car for the weekend, would have to go with the F50 GT.

Before the introduction of Enzo then it was F50 but now definitely Enzo and in times sell it and probably get a F50 and 612.

    550. Nothing else is remotely as capable of daily use and practicality, while delivering sublime driving thrill.
