The McLaren F1 is the ultimate in supercars - I think I would take one over any other car in the world.

The F40 is amazing and great in all the ways a Ferrari can be, but the F1 is everything an F40 is and then some, but the price reflects the difference in the two cars as well.

And I wish other car companies would make 3-seaters as well.

I don't think It's a fair to compare, especially since you can buy 3 F40's for the price of one F1.Enzo v F1 is a tougher choice.I would take the F1 you can only be loyal to a certain limit. What if someone proposed Mondial or CGT?

F1, then sell and get 2 F40's, service manuals, spare parts and a lot of tires, then if enough left over, a 512TR as a daily driver.

I can see why most people would pick the F1, but I'm not most people.

    Give me the F40.

F-40......more parts are available, its more stylish, more recognizable, more obtainable, more pedigree, and quite possibly more driveable.

I'm not a big fan of center-cockpit driving. I'm an American, the steering wheel belongs on the left, thank you very much. As for three-seating, well, the passengers sit BACk from the driver, not in-line. Not good if you want to hold hands, talk, or anything else...ahem....

Also, where's the value? 99% of those choosing the F1 probably couldn't get the performance out of what the car is capable of, and at what a used F1 is going for these days, you could buy two or three F-40s, driving lessons at Bondurant, and enough track time at VIR not to care that you don't have the F1 in your garage.

The only detraction the F-40 has, in my opinion, are the high-strung turbos and the stresses they probably place on the aging motor.....not that the McLaren is a spring chicken, either....they're going on ten years now?

Is this question for real? That's like comparing a Corvette to a 360. The McLaren is on another planet compared to the F40.

No matter how superior or inferior the McLaren F1 might be in ways compared to the F40, occupying the place it does in automotive history the F1 does, its not a race bred prancing horse.

I used to highly respect but dislike like the F40.

That all changed thanks to zsnnf. THANK YOU!!

I'll take one F40 to go, please. No fancy red ribbon and photo opportunities, just slicks and a full tank of gas with a map to the nearest track, thanks.

Sure, the F1's not a "prancing horse" but it did win a little race called Le Mans 24 hours back in 1995.

    Good question:

Here's one that poses even more of a real world dilemna.

A four hour BJ from Angelina Jolie or your jockstrap soaked in muriatic acid?
