Hi, my 78 Euro GT4 has developed a strange issue.
Sometimes, when the ignition key is at the auxilary position (first click) the ignition light comes on along with all the auxilary circuits. Its not a fault in the key switch, so what could it be?
If I pull the ignition wire from the fuseblock and put it back on, the ignition light goes out. Is there a relay failing?

    Cheers
    Nick

It sounds that way. How do you know it's not the ignition switch?

I don't think it is, because when I pull the wire from the fuse block that powers the ignition circuit and leave it off for a mion or two, then reconnect it the ignition light goes out. you can hear a relay click.

Does your key switch assembly actually have a physical detent at Position I? Your OM only mentions using Key Positions 0, 2, and 3 , however, the schematic implies that the ignition switch construction is such that, by turning the key only part way to Pos II, it will turn on some Pos II circuits first and not some other Pos II circuits until you reach the Pos II detent.
