I am elbows deep into disassembling my 1982. As I go through the rear luggage compartment, I removed the two digital advance ignition modules. I don’t know how the car ran but I’m told it ran well last time it ran several years ago. As part of a complete restoration, is there any rebuilding of these modules that’s necessary or do I just trust them and put them back?

On a sidenote, there is a ton of a very nice looking white cotton material deep under the fiberglass of the luggage compartment. Any chance this is harmful like asbestos or something? I got several faces full of it.

Hi, I had mine restored. They can also be tested as well. Furthermore, I had the European tune flashed as well for a bit more power and torque.
This thread brings you through it along with the details of where to have it done.

i did some searching about the white insulation in the trunk area, and it looks like one of our members, Jonny Law, had the material tested and it was just a fiberglass. i hope thats true. thanks Jonny
