Any body know where I can find Ignition Rotors for '82 308 GTSi? I need them quick too? I guess this isn't a NAPA auto parts item eh?

    Thanks,

I have heard that the 308 two-valve/injected (1980-1982) rotors are discontinued and very difficult to find.

The 308 QV rotors will -NOT- fit on the two-valve cars.

I did some further checking for you. Here's the rotor part #119396 (old #115520) you need.

Ferrari UK has them... bad news is the price. 108 GBP each ($193 US).

Dennis McCann has them here in the US, price is $215 each.

That amount of $ is crazy! Is Nick Forza's Ferrari still in business? I tried calling the number on his website and got some old lady. Wrong number? Is there anywhere that I could get these cheaper?

    Thanks

    Scott

No. This has been discussed at length before on this list.

Better call Peter Delaney before someone else does...

Scott ... I've posted some pictures of the rotors I have.

They're from my ex 1983 GTSi QV .. Euro model .. need to check to see if they fit yours.

The distributor caps are also shown if anyone is interested.

Everything seems in good order ... no cracks. The caps also have the center carbon pieces/springs.

    Regards,

    Pete

Those rotors will not work. If you want to install that type then the end of the cams have to be modified..I belive somebody here on this site posted info on how to do it. The 2valve injected rotors are bigger and are green in color and have a fastening screw on the side. I have found somthing VERY interesting in regards to these rotors.

In one of the many rotor cross reference books I have at work,,,there is a picture of the 2 valve rotor in it. It shows that it fits a Lancia, and some other car as well but does not say Ferrari. I'm going to order it and see if it will work on my car. If it does I will order a bunch and sell them to you guys if you want.

That is a VERY nice offer you made. I bought a set for my '85QV a few years ago and they were $72 each.

My car is a late european model 82 and it uses the QV rotors pictured. I bought two new rotors from GT Car Parts for $29 ea. A good friend of mine has another european model car that also uses the same rotors.

That is so weird.... They sell a 308 QV rotor for 9 pounds each, but a 2-valve injected rotor is 108 pounds each!!! Crazy...

This has been discussed many times. Check the archives. It is robbery that a $0.25 rotor cost $200 - but thats the price for the 80-82 injected cars. Heck, be thankful for $180 - the dealer gets $360 each, and be thankful they won't need to replaced again anytime soon. EVERY type of rotor from every type of car has been tried for a match and the results have been the same. Your choices are: Pay $$$$, do the QV upgrade (which you drill your cams to be able to put a $25 rotor on), go with an aftermarket ignition, or upgrade your car. Ask me how I know.

    Pete,
Let me know how much you want for the two caps. I am in Shanghai this week, but I will return to the States on Wed. I can send you a check when I get beck.
I bought two rotors like you have pictured a few weeks ago from Sodacom's for $22 each. They were on the web site's "special" link at 50% off.
Sodacom's is a sponsor of Fchat if anyone is interested in picking up a couple of rotors.
    Thanks,
    Mike
