This is another Gremlin that has popped up on my 81GTSi . When starting the engine it bucks during cranking like its advanced to high but starts right up. Then after it starts and is running normal for maybe a half minute or so it starts to pop ,buck, snort. I have swapped Digi's and no change. Changed rotors, caps, wires, plugs, swapped coils and still the same. Could the rev limiter or pick up coils be malfunctioning sending the timing all over the place? If I shut it off and start it back up it will reproduce the same effect. HMMMM? Does anyone have a thought on this?

I would start with a timing light checking both banks. Sometimes if the coil lead is not fully seated you wull get similar results. Also you did not mention if you had replaced the extenders as they are a source of ignition headaches.
