Hello, I have made a slight modification under the bonnet off 3500 GT 101-442. The single ignition wire tube only allows small wires and I wanted to go to 7mm copper core wires. It is impossible to get 14 7mm wires through the tube so... I have solved this in a 250F-ish style by placing two ignition tubes. Now only 7 wires go through each tube in stead of 14 through one. Plenty of room left now. (The old tube and wires are safe on a shelf.) The misfires I had before are history now but I know the wires I had were old so 5 mm wires in one tube would have solved the issue too. what do you think of the slight modification?? Hi Marcel, I think it gives a cleaner look. And you did it very nicely regarding the routing and lenght of each cable. Alain.
And back to original because the concours judges d'not like it ! But this time with 7mm cables. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Marcel, you did a great job on the wires. Your engine compartment looks fantastic. Ruud, your engine compartment looks great also. I notice the extra bracket and return spring you have connected to the throttle linkage. I need to fabricate the same thing. My car had one installed by the previous owner. I thought that when I rebuilt the carbs, it would eliminate the need for it....I was mistaken. I will make a bracket for mine using yours as a template. I hope you do not mind me copying yours. Thanks for posting the picture.
Ruud I know you have your sebring I for 40 years already. This is the original wire tube I suppose? Never noticed they are different from the tubes used on a 3500GT. Marcel
