Again, I am getting sick of getting a ton of junk faxes. When I get them, I call the 800 number and when I can get their fax number, here is what I am sending them on a continuous loop!!! I love justice!

The side you can't see says " I HATE JUNK FAXES"! It will run until they cancel the incoming fax. It's fun to do at night! I do wonder if it could cause a fire!

    Excellent!

I only send a couple black pages. Now it's time to crank it up a notch. Text is always in BIG, BOLD Marks A Lot.

Unfortunatley that doesn't work as most fax tranmitters are transmitting from fax servers, not fax machines. There is no "long" paper printout on the other end.

In most cases these companies use bogus return fax numbers. In some cases they use legitamate fax numbers of other businesses, in which case you would be guilty of sending an unsolicited fax just like they are.

Just call them up and demand your ~$175.00 that you are due by federal law since they sent you an unsolicated fax. Put it on "your attorneys" letterhead so they are sure to pay.

    Just my 0.02

Bwahahahahahhaha.... nuke em! Just when I had another "idea" to create a nuke fax machine with a PC.

Was nosing around on the net for junk fax prevention, I ran into Title 47 of US code. It states that you can shake them down for $500 or more for unwanted faxes. This might be a good career at $500 a day.

That would be an easy $500 a day... I get a ton of spam faxes every day. It is to the point now that I leave the fax machine empty of paper and select the faxes to print manually, otherwise I would have tons of that junk.

That sounds easy BUT what about the bogus addresses and numbers they give out? It seems like so much work just to try and trace them down. Court procedures after tracing them down is another story. By that time Im sure I wouldn't care about a few hundred dollars.

we get loads of these things here so now I don't use a fax machine for incomming, I use a PC based software (its free!) called Bitware. I agree that sending a black out doesn't really do the trick cos their systems are server or PC based as well. Mind you calling up as a genuine customer and blasting them sounds like fun to me!

We were getting fax calls to our HOME phone almost every night from 2-3:00AM... no caller ID. We'd pick up the phone and get the carrier signal... finally had to get the phone company to trace the calls and get us off the list. Errrrrrrr.

TREBLE DAMAGES, *****ES! That's $1500 PER incident where the defendant knew they were sending unsolicited faxes.

    Here's a template for a demand letter I just found. I'd re-word it a bit.

Some fax companies offer a 1-800 number on their faxes to take yourself off the list. I've frequently dialed this 1-800 number and actually gotten the automated response system of the fax company, asking if I'd like to be removed from the list.

I've often dreamt of a having a software program that would call this 1-800 number repeatedly, on my spare phone line, and ring up a few bucks a day in charges on their account. It may not make too much of a difference in terms of costing them too much money, but it would sure feel good.

Sending this back to fax spamming, I mean marketing, companies isn't going to work since you can send and receive faxes digitally, by the thousands, with the click of a few buttons. Getting a fax number out of them will go into a digital system to convert it into an e-mail which will be easy to block.

What you really need to do is become an expert at people engineering to the point where you can compromise their network from the inside rather than resorting to a brute force denial of service attack which they are very likely protected against. Lets face it, they know what they are doing will cause some backlash, they have systems in place to keep what they are doing to others from happening to them to a minimum.

Now a well bribed janitor to write down the fax numbers they see that you can use would be devious enough to make this work.
