    Cats were picked up by a customs clearance agent this morning. I'm knee deep in paperwork for Homeland Security and Chinese Customs right now. Movers come tomorrow morning to pack and we're out of here on Sunday.

    Amazing that two years went by so fast. I wonder if I can hit 8000 post on Fchat before I pick up my cars and disappear...

    Yep.

    I'm sure they are going to make me come back a couple of times per year.

    More importantly, I can actually enjoy my cars again, rather than my mechanic having all of the fun!

    Lucky you. I was almost in the same position as you today. After 3 years in Guangzhou I have had it, today I quit my job, went looking for good flight back to New Zealand, but ended up buying a train ticket to Shanghai. Now just have to find a cheap hotel and a job.

    Sad to see you go, I will miss my beer and piza this year, even though I do not spend much time in Shanghai these days. Good luck back in the US and enjoy the cars, I think you see your cars more than I do mine, it has been parked for a long time now. Just do not have time to move it to Xiamen "oh well one day".

    Good cheap hotels chain in Shanghai is the HOME INN chain, clean everything works most are new. TV, internet connection (very fast) real showers and decent size rooms. 180RMB per night. there are lots of them in Shanghai.

    Cheers for that Michael. Hopefully I can find one near a good Hunan restaurant.

    Did any of you chaps up there ever bother to drive your selves around? It has been a couple of years since I was there last but one thing that struck me was the traffic was vastly more organised than Guangzhou.

    It was fun. Hardest part of leaving is being further away from our friends. But I'm sure I'll be back in Shanghai a few times a year, no one else in our company is crazy enough to get on the plane to do it...

    Have a safe trip back home Eric. I was going to give you a call in a couple of weeks time when I'm in Shanghai for the Formula Renault race. Guess that's too late.

    There will be 3 rounds of GT car races at SIC, Apr, Jul, and Aug. If you happen to be back in town during those times and would like to swing by and get your hands dirty, let me know. We will be fielding three 360C this year and have set fastest lap times in Zhuhai. So it should be a lot of fun.

    I'll let everyone in Asia know the next time I'm going to be back. I'm still technically responsible for China, future visits will include jet lag...
