I can’t fit into an F40! My dream of having one is all but shot. Steve let me sit in his F40 today at dyno day in the NW (his F40 did over 480hp at the rear wheels!!!!!).

I’m a little over 6’2” and I didn’t fit with the seat, and position, he had in it. One person used an analogy for another tall F40 driver: a monkey humping a football. In my case, I’m just a monkey. There’s no room for the football, and I couldn’t move to hump it even if there was!

The seat had about 1.5 more inches it could go back before it touched the firewall. It, however, had only about .5 inch that it could go lower before the back of the seat hit the seat bracket that was a part of the floor.

Does anyone know if someone makes special F40 seat brackets that would allow a little more headroom?

Are there any other 6’2” F40 drivers out there? If so, what did you do to fit?

    Ideas? Help!! Thanks!

NOO! I'm almost 6'1! I hope i stop growing soon. You could get one with a bubble built into the roof. Jeremy Clarkson couldn't fit in a GT40 until he found one with a bubble built into it and lower seats.

Did you sit in the driver's seat? I mean you can't drive from the right side there you know.

Second of all, I am 6'1, all of 220 lbs and I have no issues at all fitting in my F40.

Try the left side. For some reason the right side of my car is a bit crammed up too.

I'm 5-10, and my car fits like a glove... But I have 2 inches of headroom and extra seat travel left. You May have better luck in driver's side and in standard seats... Don't fret.

Also check with Roland Linder. Never met him but IIRC he's about 6-3.

Awesome! I'm glad I'm 5'10", too, so I can easily fit in cars like these. It would suck if I was something like 6'6" because I think an F40 would be impossible. F50 would be do-able with the top removed, but still leg cramped.

Roland is definitely taller than I am and, even with a helmet, seems to fit in his F40 just fine... I've never been on the left side, but I fit in on the left side just fine (at 5'11" and 240+ lbs)... :)

I didn't try the driver's seat because Steve had it moved up to fit him. i.e., even less room

Don't fret, when you can afford an F40 you will have some one fit you to it, at least that is my plan. Regardless, lets see more pics of that F40 with the Enkei's!!

    hmm...I'm 6'3

Its been a long time since Ive ridden and driven one. But I remember I fit alot better in the driver seat than the passenger seat. I drove one w/o issue.

I notice that those seats aren't the US spec seats? Might make a minimal difference?

I am looking for an F40. That's why I'm so intent on figuring out how to fit in it.

I'm pinging around looking for someone or someway to "get fitted." That's the main reason for this thread.

Hehehe.... FYI - those are OZ Racing wheels, but they do look a bit like the Enkeis. And though I certainly want people of all sizes to enjoy Ferrari ownership, I always secretly chuckle a bit when you tall guys complain about how cramped you are in them. I'm 5' 7" and I got picked last for playground basketball every day of my grade school life. My revenge is that I fit perfectly in my F40. :)

Yes, but you have to remember that Roland's car was rebuilt to fit him.

Tim, try a F50. Might be a better fit. Plus you could configure it into an open top car. :)

Sorry I just thought you were ranting. If you are looking for an F40 then good luck! I am certain that you will be able to make yourself fit. Once you get the car I would find a highly qualified shop, bring to them and let them worry about it; they do this kind of stuff for a living and will be able to make it work. Let us know how your search goes and post more pics!
