Thanks to you guys for answering all my questions the past couple months, I've decided to go with the red 79 Boxer with black interior, at Gary Bobileffs store!
The PPI went well with very good compression and leakdown tests. It also has a fresh clutch, brakes, good Koni's, near new XWX tires, a completely renewed interior, and looks just pretty darn nice all the way around. The interior replacement started out as replacing the shrunken dash, then grew into the entire thing. Looks good, and smells even better! The engine ran good during the test drive and the gears shifted nicely without any odd noises or signs of faulty syncro's. All in all, I'm very very happy with the car! And the Ansa sport exhaust and carbs sound absolutely unbelievable! Never did check to see if the radio works, but did notice that the clock runs!
Belts, etc, are being done at present, as well as a few other odds and ends, and both axle seals changed as one had a drip.
So thank you guys for all the help you gave me, and after I pick my new baby up next week, I'll post some pictures.

    Congrats John!
Please grace us with pics of you in the drivers seat. I love the pics posted here, but there is a big lack of images with the owners smile to go along with it.

Again, congrats and best wishes to you both.

P.S. What are you going to name her?

....arrrggggg..... another Fchatter gets into the driver's seat of a Boxer before me.

CONGRATULATONS!!!! It looks fantastic, and you'll be in good company with the Fchat Boxer crowd. Post pictures when she's in the stable.

I guess then, that it was your Boxer I saw on Thursday on the lift getting worked on. I was picking up my 328. I walked under the car while on the lift, and they were working on the engine, the tranny was off and the clutch was visible. I did not have my camera with me, otherwise I would have been taking pictures.

Good luck with it. I love the Boxers.

Thank you guys so much, and yes, must have been Alberto. I was down there yesterday to see the car with the engine out.
Some reason or another, I just can't seem to stay away?!?! The engine does look pretty darn impressive just sitting there alone. Big, and serious looking with all those Weber's uncovered. Took a bunch of pics! Also signed my First Ferrari 'estimate for repairs'. Ah yes, welcome to Ferrari! Nothing unexpected, and I put it in a otherwise empty folder, as the first!
So how are you suppose to get through the last days before getting your First Ferrari without thinking, wishing, hoping, dreaming, talking about, and not getting any sleep, before the Day finally comes???

We should all meet at Crystal Cove some Saturday with our Boxers. Take the show away from all those Lambos!!!!! It would be a super rare treat to see 6 or 8 grey market Boxers all with California plates.
