Kelly and I will be flying off to the Festival of Speed this July. Anyone else planning on going? http://forums.autosport.com/showthread.php?threadid=86478 Hope this link works OK, otherwise go to the Nostalgia Forum off the Autosport.com website
Will find out the theme from my 'inside contacts' there when I can. Will take lots of pics for you all!
i know of some 'pharmacists' just off goodwood rd here, perhaps i should organise a festival of speed by the amf bowls
I'm sure both you and the red haired chick will enjoy it immensely! Have a great time, wish I was coming. BTW, while you're there, go to Palmer Motorsport Edit: sorry to bring the thread back on subject
And if you are going there, tell me now and I'll get Allan Simonsen to pull some strings and make your day even more betterer. Awesome place GM... have you done it too?
Been there, did the tour, fell in love with the place, can't wait to get back and do it for real. I really fancy those Jaguar things (Actually, one with 355 motive power would be good). They were starting to build a "junior" version with a Renault engine when we were there - I think they planned to turbo it, so probably not so "Junior"
Great place isn't it. I did it a couple of years ago, and Allan set a few things up for me too, which made it doubly great. It's changed again since I was there though, so HAVE to go again. Foul weather the day I did it too, drove the Formula Palmer Audi on wets on drying track... very disappointing. But yeah, those Palmer Jags are sensational..... But one broke the rear suspension under braking which was pretty wild. And the Clio cup cars werea blast... anyway, Goodwood, yeah, thats great too..... but I "think" the revival on the race track is better than the festival up the hill climb...... if you had to go to only one.
Haven't confirmed UK trip as yet but more likely than not.. if so am aiming for Sunday at this stage (end of 3 weeks away and flying out Mon so just this 1 day spare) Let's stay in touch..? The rest of my family I'm bringing with me (3 kids with wife and I, the other 2 on school cricket tour in UK) are not car fans so would be good to find someone to possibly share the fun day with pps: have new Nikon DSLR with 4Gb mem card and 300mm lens, if necessary will get more cards at end of trip for few hundred pics to share here when back.. take a look at my older stuff at www.findmap.com.au/alexm/cars Missing from that site are event pics such as Duttons 2003, East Coast Targa 2004 which I drove/co-drove in.. Alex.
Andrew it's a shame, I'm away that weekend on hte Fchat Euro tour, loads of friends are going though, if you want a guide or any help then drop me a PM
Thanks Mark - will PM you. I gather that one of the themes this year will be Bugatti, and I guess as 1906 was the first French Grand Prix I guess there will be a good GP theme as well. Seven current teams and their ugly new machines are confirmed so far...
