I've been following this site/chat room for months in anticipation of getting my (1st) Ferrari. As a new owner of a 07 Ferrari F430 F1 I would greatly appreciate any and all insite, tips, recommendations, etc on my life long dream machine. I know I won't sleep a wink tonight just thinking about it. I've had other sports cars (Corvettes, Vipers and a Ford GT) but I have always lusted for the ultimate sports car from my grandparents homeland and tomorrow it's mine! Tell me it's been worth the wait!
    Thanks,
    JT

As much as you think you know the excitment that you'll feel once you drive it..................YOU HAVE NO IDEA!!!!
You will be in dream car heaven my friend. It's MORE than worth the wait. Congrats and please send us a pic or two.
    ENJOY!!!!!!!

the only advice I can give is to be aware that you may have issues once in a while that will keep your car in the shop from time to time.
It happened to me 5 days afer taking delivery and it stayed in the shop for 10 days!!!!! I was ready to explode. I have also had my engine
completely replaced at 6K miles. I now have 10K miles with no issues and it drives better than ever.
Im not trying to rain on your parade, and you may have absolutely no service issues at all. You getting a race car for the street, it's not a
Porsche or BMW, it's an Italian hand built car. The good news is that Ferrari takes every issue VERY seriously and they have passion for
their product like no other car maker.

Oh yeah, make sure that the guys in your service dept know you. Once you drive off the lot they are who you will be dealing with. I bought the entire shop lunch last month as a thank you for their amazing work. Make sure to ask the dealer if the car has had the Exhaust brackets changed out. It happens on every 430 eventually.

    Hey JoeyT,
    Congratulations!
I've been driving my F1 coupe for 2 weeks now, not my 1st Ferrari, but I waited 2 1/2 years for this one, and it is absolutely amazing.
    Salute!
    Jim

    Ape,
Thanks for the heads-up. I just sold my Ford GT which had a few issues of it's own. Although my Ford dealer was accommodating, they really had know idea what they were dealing with and kept my car for weeks at a time for even the smallest of issues. They saw hundreds or even thousands of F150 pickups, but only one GT and it happened to be mine. I worked every bug out of that car but was pretty discouraged by how little even the corporate people / factory reps new about the car. It's one of the reasons I just decided to sell it and move on. My older bother has two 355 spiders (one red F1 and one black stick) and has had very few issues to speak of. When he has the Ferrari dealer seem to be on top of it. I can only hope my experience will be the same.
    Thanks again,
    JT

I just returned from driving my 430 an hour ago and am reminded of what a perfect road car it is. There are faster cars, but none better for the sheer joy of driving on the street. There are few cars that compare to the "package" of luxury, responsivness, beauty, handling, and seemless shifts (F1). This car begs to go everytime a clear lane opens ahead. It stays planted on the ground as you drive twisty roads or go up an on ramp. You always feel in control. Keep in Sport Mode for maximum versatility and street performance. Read the manual carefully to fully understand and fully appreciate your "dream". There simply is nothing like the Ferrari 430. Enjoy - Best

From this time on, time will go really slow on you but its definitely worth every minute waiting.

We have also gone through that kind of experience. Sleepless nightsn we had when the dealer called and said the car was ready for pick-up over the weekend. Tomorrow, when they hand you they keys, its all yours and you're free to drive the car wherever, whenever, and however you want it. As you drive the car, you will get compliments from people you ran across to. There will also people that will even want you to race at stop lights. Sure, some of them could beat you but then in the end.. you are the one driving the extra ordinary vehicle!

I say you go take some sleeping peels so you don't feel tired driving the car tomorrow!

    Good Luck

Congrats on the new car. I got mine about 3 weeks ago and love every second of it. I could not even sleep the night before I picked it up. Sometime I just go in the garage and look it. Think WOW I got a Brand new ferrari that I speced out. You will love that car for years to come. Cant wait to see the pics of it.

What are the color and options.

As Ape said, you may have some issues (he knows best), but someone on this board said something previously that really resonated with me: "with a Ferrari, you own a race car, and the dealership is your pit crew." People may consider this to be right or wrong in principle, but it's pretty much reality. If you maintain that perspective, you'll be able to deal with any problems you encounter with a healthier mindset. Enjoy her in good health!

Well I picked up my F430 F1 today and what a beauty! After an orientation and a major depletion of my checkbook we went for a ride; it took me a couple of miles to get the hang of shifting without taking my foot off the gas, but I like it! The cat like handling, superb braking and quick response made it all worth the wait. Now if I can only figure out how to use the Harman/Becker radio/CD/blue tooth system I'll be in like flint. My wife and I have about a 200 mile trip planned for tomorrow and I can't wait, at least for the drive that is, not the destination! Gee guess where WE are going? How about her favorite jeweler! A little (probably a lot) quid pro quo. That's one of the ways I've stayed married 30 years. I'll get some pics up loaded after I get the grin off my face and some needed sleep.
    Thanks for all the congrats!
