particularly a serie speciale. I have been unable to find any local and was wondering if anyone has a lead on one? Also, Ive never seen a serie speciale in person, if someone has one local I'd love to check it out, it would be much appreciated. Thanks

I thought Rocco, owner of RMP Motors, owns a 348 Speciale but its actually a 348TB EURO. His shop is in Etobicoke.

He is RMP348 on this forum.

    Hi!

I know of a Red/Tan Speciale for sale in Ottawa if you are interested in taking a little trip. Send me your contact info and I will forward it on to Franck if I see him at the club F1 race breakfast on the 23rd in Ottawa. I will tell him about your post as well

    Cheers!

I think there were about 7 of the Serie Speciale models delivered in Ontario so your choice is rather limited. There was a black tb with black interior that Gentry Lane Ferrari in Toronto delivered new. That one was unique in that it had a factory 'chrome look' front grill rather than the black grill seen on the red advertised SS car. Not sure who has the black SS now. The SS came as a tb or ts version. Canadian market cars have the normal seatbelt arrangement. American market cars have the 'mouse motor' seatbelt arrangement. Good luck in your search!

theres a black/tan speciale that was in a SERIOUS wreck and sold as a "clean-car" no matter how pretty it looks I would just stay away unless of course the deal is too good to pass up and you plan on keeping it for a very very long time, and while i'm here I might as well throw in the obligatory BUY ONE IN THE STATES! our moneys almost at par and being older then 15 years old they are exempt from the r.i.v program, all you need is someone to help you do it AND most importantly find you a GOOD CAR.

Im having my engine out service done at Daytona right now and I know they have exactly what your looking for. Infact I was telling my friend when I saw it that its the best looking 348 I have ever seen. I believe its a 92 and it is a serie speciale ts with I think 24,000km. Its Red with tan interior and its an original Canadian car. I dont know what they are asking for it but it is an awesome example. Daytona auto is on #7 between Kipling and Martingroove. Its in the showroom beside a nice yellow 355.

Thanks for the tip. I'll go and check out Daytona this weekend. Do you happen to know what they are asking? Ive noticed 348's in Canada seem to go for 10-25% more money than in the US.

I know everyone loves these US prices, but please keep in mind that most US cars from Florida, Texas, Cali, Arizona have summer 12 months out of the year with extra heat and great rain falls and tornadoes. These cars are always cheaper because they are always on the road for the full 12 months. In Canada, at best our cars are on the road for 7 months. I have yet to see any US car with 25,000 Miles look as in as good condition (at best) as a 50,000km CDN car. Buyer beware. As for the car at daytona as per "355" i would start with that one, and usually the 20% price difference is well worth it.....the old saying rings true in the ferrari world " Pay me now , or pay me later " Make no mistake you will be paying ;) Good luck in your search !

    The long way home
That 20% price difference is quickly eliminated once you consider currency exchange and duty (currently about 14%). After other associated costs, you'll be less than 5% ahead when comparing US prices. That 5% could easily be made up in negotiations with the seller. No two cars are alike, so pricing is (should be) based upon condition, history and pedigree.

    tru dat :D

But we all know the new world order is buying the cheapest possible product. Unfortunatley, alot of newbiees will think its just a car, then when they buy the cheapest they can find (price of admission only) and have to sort one of these wrecks....the real fun begins...hence back for sale 2 yrs later ;) Any wonder why you see a 97 355 with 5 owners on the VIN by 2009 ? :D:D:D:D:D

I know this car, last August the owner was asking about $80,000. Not sure how much he is asking now, but Alex at Daytona assured me this car is in pristine condition and is a customer of theirs. I trust Alex, and since Daytona serviced it, you can bet that the car definitely is in pristine condition.

It is in amazing condition. If I was looking for a 348, this would be the one. Not only that but because it was serviced there, You can bet it was done right and they will back their work.

Mine is for sale listed with Bobileff for $53.5k USD -- If you ask me this is a steal. Get it before someone snatches it.
It is an SS#63 and has Carbon Fiber Seats, Tubi, and Bobileff did a full major including Hill Tensioner Bearings and the works 11 months ago.
