    Hi guys,

Im doing the switch from Ferrari to Lambo (hopefully) this week. Murcielago late 2003 model, pearlescent yellow.

Im in the UK and the car in question is going in for an inspection at Lambo London in a couple of days. Ive read lots on the forum, I know to double check the front lifting system that has been emphasised much . What else should I look out for? What sort of compression /leakdown figures should I expect on an engine that has done 9000 miles..... or should I even bother with a compression test? Any thoughts/links to info would be VERY welcome

The car is 3.5 years old with only 9000 miles, how many service stamps should it have in total?

Thank you VERY much in advance guys

    Ade

Well make sure it wasn't in a crash before and got rebuilt.

Regarding price: Im happy with our negotiations so far (Im dealing in Sterling - different market) but yet to be totally agreed.

Yes, thanks, ive done the obvious checks to see whether its 'registered' as an insurance write-off / crashed.

Any real life examples / help would be MUCH appreciated. I will be forever thankfully for any tips and hints from owner's experiences...

Make sure all the champaigns have been completed (Certified dealer can check the computer for you - not sure on how many there are but the dealer can tell you). Do/run the equivalent of a Car Fax (will show any damage to vehicle that was claimed). Have a PPI done and this will confirm no major damage occurred to the vehicle as well as determine the overall mechanical condition of the car, usually includes leak down testing. If all checks out then you're probably ok.

My compliments to you for moving to Lamborghini and the Murcielago (IMO the best looking Lambo ever built). The Murcie is drop dead gorgeous and faster than a banshee. I love mine and it's been extremely reliable over the four thousand miles I've put on it.

Good luck with your purchase :)

Maybe you can ring up the local club & check with owners who might know it's history? I normally get friendly with the workshops & fish for information but not all mechanics speak the truth though. I haven't been here for long & didn't see much technical information since most people seems to trade with specialist dealers & agents.

How many are there in UK?

Congrats on the decision, it is an amazing car.

    Btw, is it an Egear?

I think there has got to be less than 40 in the UK.

There was only one offical dealer, now there is 4 but they push tops 3 cars a year each.

LP640 is 2 cars a year from my local dealer and allocation is sold out for 12months, not that I'm looking but thinking of moving to a roadster if I could get rid of that messy hood!!

That's surprising Paul. I'm in Singapore & some of our cars are exported to UK.

We have only one dealer here that covers the "neighbours" as well. There's about 20+ Murcies here alone & more than half in manual. There are 70+? Gallardos around while the LP640 is sold out till 2009 which means a possibly 18-24 months wait that is if the factory don't put out another new model by then since the CEO mentioned they want something new a year!
