OK, I went to the Puyallup Fair tonight, and as I'm leaving something catches my eye. As the "Oh my God" is coming out of my mouth, the girl I'm with (who know's my Ferrari fanaticism) starts laughing. Sitting in front of me is a pearl white Pontiac Grand Prix with the vanity tag "FERARI". I almost pissed my pants. What is that about!!!???? I don't care if you love the cars or not; a tag like that on a Pontiac?? Naw.......................

I suppose he is wishing he will own one some day and has poached the plate for use at a future purchase. Good luck to that owner. But for now, he will look idiotic until the plate is on the proper car.

Well.... if it's any consolation, at the least the correctly spelled "FERRARI" Washington State vanity plate is on a 246 Dino.

Well at least "Ferrari" is on an F-car. What a waste to lose that tag to a... Pontiac??!!! I wonder if he thinks he's cool or what?? it's just weird.

Le Mans, GTO, he's just carrying on an old Pontiac tradition.
I once put a Pontiac 421 in a 54 Stude. That pup could run....

I've seen a 80's Honda Civic with an actual prancing horse emblem on... I think that emblem was worth more than the car...

On the flip side of the coin, perhaps the Pontiac driver is showing support for his/her favorite F1 team...much like someone having Seahawks trinkets. This or it is a reminder for the Pontiac owner of his/her dream to own a Ferrari some day. I would be ok with either of the two i.e. Ferrari fans or aspirants.

Poseurs on the other hand are another matter.

License Plate Make Year Color Series Body City
FERARI FERR 1982 RED 308CP FEDERAL WAY

I once saw a 308GTS plate on an econobox in downtown Seattle. If he had a GTB plate I would have hunted him down and stolen the plate like the FERARI guy apparently did... ;)

I asked about that one. Double jeopardy, was told it has been taken and its not a Ferrari, but they would not allow it to be a vanity plate because to was already distributed in the batch of standard plates.

Considering this thread was started in 2004, it's entirely possible the Pontiac owner either no longer has the plates or bought a 308. Just a thought...
