It's an 84 QV coupe and the pics make it look awfully nice. It has Recaro seats which the owner thinks may have been original. I'm not sure about that, but they look very nice and undoubtedly will sit well. Can anyone advise on the wisdom of buying a Euro?

Everything being equal i prefer them. I had an 83 Euro as my first fcar.
The only issues are that no 2 are alike depending on who certified them here for DOT/EPA.
Does it have cats? Do you need to have it emissions checked where you are?

No emissions checks are required in Florida. I'll look to see if it has cats.

I just drove it. It seems heavy and slow compared my to 308QV. Not a car I would want to drive much. It sure looks nice, though.

I see you have a 308 and were looking to get a Mondial-
I am on the fence as to which one I'll buy-
Mondials are nice but the 308 I am looking at is gorgeous-
    What are your impressions?
I have 2 small boys who I'd like to take to school in a Mondo, but I could take one at at time in the 308-
I have now a 68 porsche, 65 and 71 mb, but my daily is a range rover-
Do I get the Mondo or 308? Its a 1977 and pretty mint-
    Thanks Tony

I have only driven this one Mondial, so I'm no expert. I'm sure there are others here who can tell you a lot more. I have owned a 328 and a 308QV, and both were far better driving cars than the Mondial I drove today. However it was an 84QV and I suspect the 3.2 cars would be better with the added horsepower. I suspect the Mondials are a lot heavier than the GTS and GTB cars. This one looked beautiful but was a big disappointment to drive. I'm hoping to get the details ironed out on a very nice 308 carb car I'm trying to buy. It's overheating and I want to get that resolved because it's in beautiful condition and I'd like to drive it a lot.

My current Mondial ('83 QV Coupe) is actually quicker than my former '82 GTSi, but that's no surprise as we're talking 205 vs 235 hp. (The Mondial does weigh more though.)

The 308 is a bit more agile due to the shorter wheelbase, but the Mondial is a better highway cruiser. In corners, the Mondial is actually pretty good, especially with modern 17" rubber instead of the TRX tires. Ergonomics (seating position) is better in the Mondial due to 3" more headroom and a steering wheel that's adjustable fore-aft and for rake.

If you've got kids that you plan to take for rides, you'll want the Mondial. The 308 is iconic and beautiful, but you'll have to make the tough choice of which child to take for a ride and leave the other behind.

I've an 82 Euro QV and with modern rubber drives really well. I've driven most 308/328/mondials and the QV is certainly up there when it comes to handling etc. Recaro's were not original to my knowledge. My two boys were pretty young when I bought my car and now at six foot they can still come for a ride...just

I changed to 17" wheels on my Mondial and it made a difference in handling. Yes the Mondial is heavier, it has 2 additional seats and a drivetrain subframe. Having the Mondial will allow the entire family to travel together
    Good luck
