You posted on anther board that you searched for a week and couldn't find any under $40k. Your search will take much longer than a week as people have searched for their perfect car for years.
Im aware of that Hawaii What I meant was Ive searched for a week recently and 40k + is the norm.... Ive actually been looking for about 2.5 yrs since I sold my Stradale.
You could try the various PCA chapter sites, but there's a lot of them, and they may not be up to date. I got a killer deal on a 19k 964 turbo on one of those sites a few years ago. Maybe you could e-mail some chapter presidents if they have any leads.
Or you can just buy the one I've presented Chas? Didn't know you were a Ferrari guy as well. Talk soon, Mike
Hey Mike how are you......... I think I posted this before we found each other LOL Looking forward to the pics.......... chas
Well this one is not perfect, and I think depending on what you are looking to find here, that you very well may need to spend quite a bit more money than $40K. That is if you are trying to find a perfect example. I did find this one, which while not perfect seems to have some nice options. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-Porsche-911-E-Targa-/180995572670?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item2a242d43be#ht_3813wt_1165 I will let you know if I find anything else that might be useful. You might want to give Tom Conway a call as well at Carquip. I know that at one point he had a pretty nice 911 E that he was putting back together, he might have something right up your alley. His number is (303) 443-1343. Tell him that I sent you to him please, and I am sure that he will try to do his best to help. Let us know what you eventually find. These are really nice cars and I wish I still had mine. Erik Johnson
If you're looking for a higher end car, Brian at caporsche.net knows the early 911s very well. http://www.caporsche.net/carsforsale911.html I like the Albert Blue car - '72 E, not sure whether it's sold. $40K is kind of low-average driver pricing these days. Early Porsches have been on the upswing for a few years.
