It's even german. No one was hurt, only property damage was to my now soggy car. I parked, got out (keys in hand) and walked to the front door and heard the splash. I wanted to post this sooner, but couldn't figure out how to get the pictures off new phone. The keys don't come out unless it's all the way in park, so not sure why it happened, but with no parking stop at the edge of the parking space it just rolled down the hill into the pond Chelle Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey Andreas, do we have an award for V12 going where none else have gone? I canwin that unless anyone else in the area put their V12 in a bigger body of water? lol
lol thought ya might enjoy that one Frank- yupp.... but as Haley reminded me - that was a good way to lose a car really... didn't hit neighbor's house or anyone else's property, no one hurt (well, except one fish gave his life.. ). DMC - "Oberflasche"? that like "Dive!, Dive!"? Andreas - what happened to yours?? Chelle
For Sure! It is a good thing that it didn't hit anything. Hey, perhaps another 12 cylinder motor for another ....project....?....
Nope, it's happily resting northwest of the city, keeping 'MSTKNID' company! Not sure if I did that right?
Chelle, have you tried starting it yet? Remember, you have a place to store it free if need be. Let me know.
that's awful. i admire your light hearted spirit. hope insurance will recover the damages. best of luck.
Thanks for the update, relieved to hear that. Apparently it enjoyed the one night stand at Sean's house. This is only the 2nd time these cars have ever met each other. I bet they got some good stories to swap with Ed's toys.
Yeah, they must be talkin' up a storm! What with Ed's purple 69' Camaro, the 89' Mondial and the 78' 308 in the shop, I'm sure they've all become bosom buddies by now! I can hear "Lil Evil" trying to coax the others on to do the 1/4. Unfortunately, it would be no contest!
Sorry to hear about the belt Andreas.. fortunately it was just that rather than something that does damage when it fails. You know Frank - I thought about that.. still am - I'm trying to decide what to do with the thing now. I passed on word to a few lists that I will sell it as well as another 750 that is missing the engine if someone wanted to swap the interior, but I haven't ruled anything out - I may just pull the engine and keep it as a spare/future project. hmm, an FXX replica? Thanx Skip... I imagine I need to move it before long.... Thank Ed for me please.. oh, also I can get one of those monitors - I finally heard back from the seller in e-mail. I haven't tried to start it - when I connect the battery the alarm won't shut off. I need to dig through the manuals and figure out how to disconnect it - putting the key in doesn't seem to have any effect. Orange 6.0VT - Thanx.. truthfully after it was out of the water and I spent all night trying to save important paperwork I was pretty upset but it's just a car.. gives me an excuse to go car shopping I miss having a V12 daily driver!!
Yeah, well, if you've ever met Chelle, you'd know the she is definitely a sweetheart! And, after the endeaovor with the GTO. That Beemer would be a piece of cake!
Thanx Mitch, It was just a few minutes.. there aren't any parking stops in the spaces right there. Had it been any of our cars with manual transmissions I would have put it in gear and set the parking brake - but with an automatic the fact that I took the keys out meant it SHOULD have been in park and not needed to use the brake. I got out took the keys and walked up the the front door of the house - as I was unlocking the door I heard it splash.. lol, thankfully I wasn't close - there is almost no slope to the ground right where it was parked, but as soon as it moved about 5 feet it drops off enough that it would have been moving too fast backwords for me to have safely gotten in and stopped it. I would have ended up getting run over by it. Hey, if anyone wants a project I'll happily sell it and the one with a perfect interior for $2000.. It would be nice to have it not just go to the crusher.. Chelle
