As some of you may know, I've been getting a random "Check Engine 1-4" Light on my F355 that comes on for a few minutes every once in a while, then turns itself off for hundreds of miles, only to illuminate again at random, flash a few times, and turn off. The car never exhibits any type of problems while driving, which I also found a little odd. Well, this past weekend I decided to get my hands dirty, scrape some knuckles, give myself a few blisters, and address the damn CEL once and for all. I pulled the codes, and got the code for the O2 Sensor on the 1/4 Bank. Thanks to all the great info posted here by all the wonderful members, and everyones favorite parts guy Daniel, I was able to swap out the O2 Sensors on both banks, clean up and repair the MAFs, swap in a new Crank Sensor, and change the spark plugs. It took me about 2 hours going very slowly so I wouldnt mess anything up. I also had a good friend of mine who is a master mechanic within shouting distance just in case I needed his help or expertise. He did say that the F355 is much easier to work on then any modern day Japanese or German car as everything is situated correctly for quick access. End Result... After a quick reset of the ECU and letting the car re-learn the parameters... she now runs better then ever. I managed to save a few bucks by doing the work myself and I now feel that if I had to, I could probably fix other things as well. You guys probably didnt know that you helped me at all, but you did help me out a great deal and I would like to thank all of you. Petey
No Doubt I "No DOUBT" owe you big time. It was your spark plug info and 348 Primer that got me going. Without that info, I would have never gotten the codes out of the car. If we ever run into each other, your drinks are on me sir! Thank you!
I'm proud of you too Petey , now will I come do mine AND please order my steering wheel...I'm still waiting on your call ...
Ditto proud of you too. There is a fantastic feeling of great accomplishment when you do it yourself, but watch it it's addictive..
