Hi all, I am trying to upload pictures to a thread (JPEG format), but they are usually too big, both in size and dimensions. Is there any easy way or program to reduce pictures to more manageable sizes? Macintosh here. Thanks alot! Julio Batista
I use IRFANVIEW- it's free, just Google search for it. Use the 800x600 size. (image, resize menu) Steve
You usually need photoshop or an equivalent program. If you're on a Mac (they're the best. I make my living on one) you can try IPHOTO. Photos can be reduced a few ways. Change the image size, change the resolution or save a copy at a lower number on the JPEG conversion. Let me know what image handling programs you have and I can further explain. Bob
Using Hotmail, I e-mail them to myself, then copy to hard drive. Hotmail reduces the photo size automatically.
Thank you all for your advice, I use Iphoto but don't know how to change size and resolution with it. Rcraig, what is the trcik please? Thanks! Julio Batista
Julio- Select photo in Iphoto and in top menu go to share-export. When box opens click "scale images no larger than". Usually 800 x 800 is about all most uploads will allow. Hope this works.
You can also download a free image resizer from microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx Then when you right-click any picture there is a re-size option.
