    I looked at the pics and wondered how could have this happened?

    In looking at the photos, I came to the following realization.

    The car was "balanced" on the lift. It is rear heavy but still balanced and feels stable on it.
    The mechanic starts working on the passenger front wheel.
    When he takes off the passenger front wheel, the loss of the weight of the wheel at the front end of the car unbalances the car. The front end of the car starts to tilt up. Before the mechanic can say "Oh, ****!", the car falls to the ground.
    Ouch!
