IMMACULATE…PRISTINE….1976 308 GTB. One of the finest examples you will ever find. I have meticulously maintained and cared for this car over the last 7 years.

This car just completed a major service in September 09 that cost over $4000. Everything that needed attention was fixed. Some of the highlights…

    - Belts
    - Cam seals
    - New tensioner bearings
    - Rebuilt water pump
    - Valve adjustment
    - Air cleaner striped and powder coated
    - New engine mounts

I have the past service records, books, tools, jack, and spare.

    Restoration that has been performed.

    - Bare metal repaint in 06
    - New shocks and all suspension bushings replaced in 05
    - A/C conversion in 05
    - Carburetors rebuilt by Ferrari in 06
    - Seats recovered with quality leather in 05
    - Brakes were rebuilt in 05

I have spent thousands more replacing and fixing other items on this car. Everything down to the clock works like it’s supposed to. Every Ferrari maintenance facility in San Diego knows this car. It will pass anyone’s PPI.

This car runs and drives perfectly. The shifting is smooth and there are no anomalies from the gearbox. It won second place in its class at last years Bella Italia car show.

It has no smog equipment so I can’t complete a California sale. The car must be sold out of state. It does have CA historic plates that do not require a smog.

I am listing this car for $42,000 OBO. VIN#20621, 67,000 Miles

So you can't sell it to another person under historic plate status?

I know CA sucks, bigtime, in a lot of ways, which is why I left 16 years ago. I suppose it must meet smog requirements for sale, THEN, the new owner can get historic plates and be exempt from smog checks.

Too bad CA is so strict on emissions on these older cars. Most people don't drive them enough miles per year to cause a problem. Sucks. I had the same problem with a bunch of cars in WI.

wow, seems nice. i dont care for the mirrors or gray wheels, but those are minor items. i thought all 76 glass cars were dry sump, but i think all the USA spec cars were wet sump?

    great price point too!

Needs Euro bumpers (like mine!) and that diaper removed for a proper exhaust (also like mine!) to be perfect hehe. Seriously proper car. I love looking at it.

This is a real nice car as I have inspected it at close range last year at Bella Italia. It represents a good buy for someone who wants a 308 to get in and drive. Forget the $20K E-bay specials as this car is in a totally different league. Quite simply you cannot get anywhere near this car with all of your labor free in starting with the $20-30K cars that are out there.

As an aside I know that the mirrors can be totally changed back to original however to really help the sale I would strongly recomend to put on a set of Vitaloni Californians and take new pictures. Perception counts for a LOT and I'm afraid you will just scare off too many people who judge the photos before ever getting to know the car. Kinda like advertising with out of focus shots of a dirty car. The first impression is ruined.

Then again Christopher could really benefit from this car. Sell it to him so that every 10 minutes you can receive a phone call asking:

'How quickly should I turn the key to start the car?'

'Is it ok to pump gas with the left hand?'

'Where can I find original blinker fluid?'

and so on and so on....

    Good luck with the sale.

It is nice - took a second in class last year to a seriously amazing 328. The price isn't a steal, but anyone who is serious about a pre-cat 308 should consider this one.

Please, if I could lay my hands on a case of OEM blinker fluid in the original bottles with the papal seal, I would be retired already.
