I retrieved the PIN from my immobiliser using a brute force approach implemented using a Raspberry Pi to simulate key turns in the ignition. I was quite lucky and the machine hit upon the correct PIN after a thousand and something attempts.

I'm using the same approach with a friend's immobiliser, however as the setup neared 5000 attempts, the immobiliser behaviour changed. The LED output no longer flashes every 0.6 seconds when inputting a PIN; instead, it simply mimics the ignition key input: ignition on, LED on - ignition off, LED off.

I know that the modern Ghost immobiliser locks out after 5000 attempts and wondered if anyone is aware of similar behaviour in the Bosch system?

No reply from Gobble; not surprising as this is his business and I do not judge him at all for that. However... it turned out that my box had actually found the correct PIN and the immobiliser was actually in learning mode - I just hadn't recognised it. Perhaps slightly different timing or behaviour to the previous immobiliser I "cracked", one being 167065 and this one being the later 168508.
