Good news as this is year five for us for Imola. Carol Imola revamp going according to plan The revamp of the Imola circuit, host of the San Marino Grand Prix, is progressing well, according to the president of the company that manages the race. The Italian circuit is set to be updated in a 10 million euro project supported by the Italian government. The changes will include a revised layout as well as a new, larger paddock space and improved facilities. The project is supervised by F1 track designer Herman Tilke. Federico Bendinelli, president of Sagis, has said everything is going according to plan and that the works will begin in September. "The restructuring plans are going as programmed. The government contribution has been allocated and we've already spent part of it for consultations." "Last week, for some engineering stuff, we had at the autodrome a colleague of Tilke and a man from Ecclestone's company. The works will start right after the last weekend in September, when the Superbikes will race here."
